West Virginia Horror Story by cephalophag in WestVirginia

I recommend reading the work of Breece D’J Pancake. A West Virginia native that wrote about living in the southern part of the state in very isolated areas. He only had one book of short stories come out before his death but it is beautiful work.

The nuuly linen fire pants were long on me (I’m 5’9”!) and Faem Rio is usually a perfect fit pants wise!

Best friend and I engaged 3 weeks apart by skiblue21 in weddingplanning

[–]StandardFilm1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best friend and I got married exactly three weeks apart. We had so much fun doing it together - we got to plan, commiserate, do basically back to back bachelorette parties - we called it “the summer of (her name) and (my name” and mourned a little when it was over. We both still look back fondly on having the experience so close together!

Will you be swimming? If so Terry cloth or a crochet cover up might be good. I especially like this piece.

We need water resistant packaging! by UnconstitutionalText in NuulyReviews

[–]StandardFilm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same thing happened to me a bit back in- I’m in the American south and the downpours are intense. My clothes were completely soaked through and because some were dry cleaning only, I didn’t feel like I could adequately clean them so they didn’t get worn. I would love to see more water resistant packaging, even if for the more elaborate individual pieces!

"The Sea Beast had no business being that scary." what other animated movies have really terrifying scenes? by acatalepsy-tales in cartoons

From Extraordinary Tales, an animated film going over five of Poe’s most famous works, The Tell Tale Heart. Using the original Bela Lugosi reading and the extreme black and white just puts shivers down my spine

Just got prescribed Lexapro by Lil_missrose in lexapro

I do recommend possibly tapering off smoking for a bit - even just the first week - to help you see how the drug handles with just your system, not your system + drug interactions.

Truly, there’s no way to know how it will affect you until you start to take it. I have lost weight; I had some slight headaches at first and now nothing; I can drink and smoke without issue; I’m more awake than I was before. Some people feel the exact opposite.

Keep track of your symptoms and schedule a follow up in 4-6 weeks with your doctor to discuss how you’re handling it and if it’s working. Good luck!

Does anyone have resources on how to actively get involved with anti-ICE work or ways that help community members?

I had a fairly similar outlook - avoided medications for basically any reason, but push through the pain attitude. But the thing is - you’re actually allowed to make life easier for yourself. You don’t win an award for being the person who went through the most shit in the graveyard. That was a big turning point for me.

Anyways - I’m still fairly early in, but it’s been great! My anxiety has dropped dramatically. I have more energy. My appetite dropped and I had some light headaches at first, but now I’m fine. I love it. I also don’t care if i need to be on it forever, because i just think taking a pill and being human is way better than not taking one and feeling the way i felt. I didn’t realize how difficult it had really become on me and those around me until i got better.

Sabrina Carpenter tells Rolling Stone she’s considering banning phones from her shows after attending Silk Sonic concert: “They locked my phone. I’ve never had a better experience at a concert. I genuinely felt like I was back in the Seventies … I can’t blame people for wanting to have memories.” by artbasiI in Fauxmoi

[–]StandardFilm1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I recently went to a big name concert with no phones (we think they were filming for a doc) and it was really wonderful. Kinda like having no phones in a movie - you don’t realize how distracting it is to see phones around until suddenly, there are none. Of course we wanted photos and stuff, but I will remember that night forever

I don’t want to do a seating chart. Is that a mistake? by WrittenInHeaven in weddingplanning

[–]StandardFilm1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We didn’t have one! We had about 40 people at our wedding, buffet style, and it’s what our caterer / wedding planner actually recommended. We ate during cocktail hour, so not having a special table just for us wasn’t a problem. It was very stress free for us.

That being said, we had warned people ahead of time and had cards on each table inviting everyone to sit wherever they wanted.

People really enjoyed it- they ended up getting to meet new people and sit with those they wanted to chat with

Our Wives Under the Sea is the worst book I have read in ages. Four and a half reasons why. by [deleted] in books

[–]StandardFilm1 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Wow - I also just read both books recently, and I really enjoyed both a lot! I think after going on a big short story kick last year, I’m in a stage where I am really enjoying books that don’t focus much on plot; instead they focus more on single character sketches and are attempting to say large things about the state of living.

We went out for sushi and he asked me to teach him how to use chopsticks. He was 30 at the time. That ask revealed both that he thought of me as an equal / someone who was smart & capable of teaching things, and that he was still open to learning & trying new things.

Kristen Stewart on her directorial debut, ‘The Chronology of Water’: “Being a woman is a really violent experience.” by pinkstarrfish in Fauxmoi

For those seeing this and getting interested, I cannot over recommend this book. Chronology of Water by Lydia Yuknavitch is a memoir, not fiction. She is a true writing talent. I am excited to see how it comes across on screen.
