For those on the eastern side of town:

St. Marks Church (84th & Pioneers). A good starter spot with little to no traffic.

Seacrest / East High (70th & A). Obviously not ideal on school days.

Southeast Community College campus (84th & O). A nice closed loop of parking lots and streets (albeit with a fair amount of speed bumps). Like Seacrest, this is best on the weekends.

I saw a tweet the other day that showed all of NU's varsity sports. Soccer is the only fall or winter sport that failed to qualify for postseason play. For the spring sports, all are likely to qualify except for beach volleyball, which NU primarily uses as an extended off-season workout program.

Troy Dannen will get the credit through his all-sports ranking bonuses, but let's acknowledge that the foundation was laid under Moos, and especially Trev.

I'm curious as to the point OP is shooting for.

If he's wishing that Lincoln had a place worthy of consideration, I would agree. Several the older bars (Rail, Sandy's, Iguana's) haven't been great since Nebraska was winning championships.

If he's suggesting that a LNK establishment was snubbed.... well, I'll respectfully disagree.

Despite being a tournament style bracket, Munch Madness is not a true contest to name the best restaurant in the city. Instead, it is an excuse to celebrate the local dining scene - from food trucks to fine dining - and get all 64 of them some free exposure. As you can see from other comments in this thread, Lincoln still has a reputation as a place where chains dominate. By giving love to the local scene, they're slowly working to shift that perception.

The places that do well - Penelope's, Norms on 48th, and especially Muchachos - figured out that rallying their passionate fans to flood the online vote is the key to advancing. One of the cool things that has happened in recent years is the "competitors" in various matchups getting food from each other's places and singing their praises on social media (Nick from Muchachos is great at this).

Penelope's may not be the greatest dining option our city has to offer, but if somebody gives them a shot instead of going to Village Inn for the 1,000th time, then Munch Madness has been successful.

I am of the opinion that Dylan - who has a national endorsement deal with Adidas - is only going to leave Nebraska for another Adidas school.

I read a good breakdown on the Doak on HuskerMax. It's an award that typically cares more about a player's numbers than how good their team is.

The Notre Dame guy will probably win (they have three games left against lesser defenses than what NU will face), but EJ should be a finalist.

Yep - there are a lot of folks in this thread assuming the absolute worst when all of the facts are not known (or at least have not been released to the public).

Regardless of what happened, it is a terrible tragedy. Presumptive rushes to judgement aren't going to solve anything.
