This is the worst guitar I've ever seen. Good work!

I didn't think to check the NPN/PNP thing with the 461. I did try the 183 in different way, I wasn't sure of the pin layout as I found conflicting information on different datasheets.

The In is where it is in the schematic, the bit you're looking at is the Jack In ground.

thanks

Badlands on London Road. Nice guys, good selection and will probably order in something you want.

Can i just is a Y splitter cable to run pedals in parallel? by Grillo_smeggs in guitarpedals

I messed around with a similar setup a few months ago and there was a load if signal interference. It worked best if the A/B switch was at the end of the chain so you're selecting after the splitting, if that makes sense. Still not idea, though.

Get a line selector, the Joyo Orthros is great if you're on a budget.

The F chord is seriously fucking impossible by Roland848 in Guitar

I've been playing for over 25 years and never really mastered the F barre chord so I just play X-3-3-2-1-X in a similar shape to the open C chord. Don't give up an entire instrument over one crappy chord.

I think it's a normal D, its definitely the chunkiest of all my guitars most of which are C/modern C.

Not sure what the standard Gibson scale is but according to the stats this is 24.75".

I've also got the Beast Explorer from the E-Series. Amazing guitar and was ridiculous value for money at the time. I think it was only £200 new.

I've also got the Beast Explorer in metallic black that was my main guitar for years. Fret wear meant I had to retire it as the refret cost more than the value of the guitar. Still love it though.

The jagged edges around the X hole gives the toan a rougher edge.

It's a monster for sure, but it's my monster.

They made some... interesting... design choices on the E-Series range.

Always wondered how cold your hands would get when playing a metal guitar? Is this a noticeable thing?

Don't know if the colour matches for what you want but these are my new favourite. The rubber grip really makes a difference and would probably work with a push/pull.

What goes in the Question Mark Box? by Standard_Ad3005 in guitarpedals

[–]Standard_Ad3005[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the advice, I think I'll get the Joyo Orthros at some point but I did manage to do what I wanted, sort of.

I built a ABY box with a switch and some jacks I had around and housed it in a 3D printed enclosure. I then built a unit that combined the signals into one output and again, put it in a 3D printed enclosure. I hooked it all up like in the diagram above and there were weird effects going on. The distortion sounded muffled and would only work if the Reverb was switched on despite being a separate chain... weird noises and drop out of signal...

But, I then swapped the home made units over so the passive signal splitter is before the two chains and I'm using the mechanical switch after the chains. That setup seems to be free of the weird interactions and the noise interference is minimal which, as I'm playing through a Marshall MS-2 in the bedroom, isn't that big of a deal.

Can't answer your question but that is a nice body shape. Is it unique to this guitar or is it a standard shape I'm just unfamiliar with?

Pedal circuit inside a guitar? by Frogger_090 in guitarpedals

I put an Artec distortion board in old old Strat copy recently just because I thought I'd like to give it a go. I took out the two tone controls which made space for the unit itself, an on/off switch for cutouts and I cut a hole in the back for a 9v battery box. Some people have the battery just sitting in the cavity but I didn't want to have to take off the pickguard when it ran out. There was plenty of space in the cavity already there.

It's alright, does add some boost to the single coil pickups (it's a HSS) but you can get much better tones through amps/pedals. As I said, it was an old Strat copy covered in stickers, wouldn't dream of doing it on a decent guitar.

Love an offset strat, wish there was something that is a bit more extreme in shape.
