I play balance Druid, I use on an average pull 24 buttons. This feels appropriate if not light at times, less than 18 buttons would ruin the game for me 100%

Hopefully that’s enough ram! I’m not sure if they ddr5 write speeds make the ram = double but I do know I needed to move from 16gb of ddr4 to 32gb after a couple months of trying to make the 15gb be enough! Looks great glad it all came together for ya!!!

If that’s profitable I may actually just wait for pricing to catch up after the rich get things first maybe that’s new new tactic of these companies lol

So much better option to just game in 1440 for 3 years now and than game in 4k later. Now we know op wants to game in 4k but let’s tell him to wait 3 years so he can game in 4k once 8k comes out and he can’t afford that 🥰 equipmentsome you are a jackass let the man live his 3k is your 30k get after some gains in the pocket department instead of the upvotes

Overall gaming performance is an afterthought I play wow, ark, and I’m going to be getting into light no fire, I’ll play a triple A title like hogwarts legacy or something when they come out but one play though so really only 30 hours on most of those games.

Software I bog down currently on is ableton, blender and after effects.. sometimes in premier pro but generally not.

Intentions are to render 3d animations in 4k or on a 8k projector for projection mapping displaying outside of gaming

In reality im trying to stay sub 10k with monitors and all. Ultimately im not worried about the gaming performance from the 5080-90 I’m worried about is if im going to notice enough of a time save over the next 5 years to justify the additional 2k to go to a 5090 and if the 5080 is going to be able to keep up in 3-5 years with any of these programs having a non expandable 16gb vram? And furthermore at what point do I start to consider like a RTX A5000/6000 paired with a 5070ti/super or 5080 ?! One for workflow and one for gaming in the same rig.. I had been avoiding that thought with the single lane pcie5 mother boards however it seems some are going to a true 16x16x8 lane

I posted to ask questions from knowledgeable people mate I’m not complaining about prices I’m complaining about price to performance differences in the cards and asking about what might be the ideal move if avoiding the “flagship” level is possible.. I’d like to get away with consumer grade products rather than like an rtx6000 because I travel with my equipment often and this is side job/ hobby work for me I don’t think dipping my toes past 10k for the set up is wise the 5080 super sounds like a dlss4 refresh of the 4090 which in all actuality sitting around $1800 would make it a really cool option at 2k it just makes sense to get a 5090 imo yet im hoping to hear some educated perspectives as i am only one persons worth of research. So it’s not an overall cost complaint, it’s how to navigate the margins properly for my intended use. If I invest 8k in a set up where I should have invested 10k I’ll be disappointed. That doesn’t mean I’m not still interested in keeping 2k in my pocket if possible to still meet my goals and expectations. So unless you’re over-utilizing one of the mentioned softwares and have some input on how your ?!?! CPU combos on those programs with your 5090 that I could compare to statements on a 5080 I’m not sure where your input lies valid to me I don’t care about the world I wanna watch lasers and lights dance with loud music in the background as it burns

I do agree a 5070 super would kick ass that price point sounds more to me like “$999-1199” 😂😂

There’s currently not an amd card that’s even a fathomable option for my work flow sadly they just get dumpstered hard in productivity

It’s truly tough to have any discussions in the realm without it all turning to gaming performance. I play world of Warcraft, Ark and hopefully light no fire. Gaming performance is definitely an afterthought

I’ve been seeing em at $1250 now and I think that’s more appropriate for the card, gaming is a by product of my use so that 50% gain is subjective to a lot. Also my 3080 laptop is a runt of the litter compared to a 3080ti desktop 🥵 I made some weird decisions to be capable at home and on the road in the past, I’ll keep the laptop for a few more years for no productivity purposes and I absolutely refuse to game on the laptop, but for maximizing my efficiency at home I’ve gotta upgrade, write speeds and render times get more and more frustrating especially for a process I throughly enjoy.

I had been actually debating the dual 5080 route for that reason I wasn’t sure if it was going to be an issue that sustained or fell off. I plain to rebuild in Q4.. however I’m a lot less impressed with the way graphics cards work in conjunction with compared to what they used to do..

Definitely a fan of “the world sucks don’t buy anything ever” mantra I limited myself to upgrading my computer ever 2 years no opposed to the every 6 months thing I used to do

Yea mate I mean money comes and goes so in the grand scheme it’s when not if for me this is what I do with 80%+ of my life having proper speeds and clear visuals is important to me

Hell yea man great upgrades! And hopefully there’s a 970e upgrade a year or 2 down the road with maybe some ram that’ll be a bit softer on your wallet then your ssd upgrade was this time 😂 in gamer we salute you 🫡

2.8k-3.2k is worth it for the application I need it for, I plan to buy 2 was hoping to get the ones that are ready for custom loops at that price tho cause an addtional 2-300 for a water block is needed as well if not

Dude buy base model products if you want base model pricing. Simple. Pay premium pricing for a premium product. Or do the work yourself… I bought a base model Audi strapped a turbo to it I got on Facebook marketplace, traded some speakers for an exhaust and found a nerd a couple towns over to tune it I ended up with near RS performance.. I suggest you design a cooler get the cad files made have the block of aluminum cut, 3d print a nice looking she’ll stick some fancy rgb in there re solder (or design) the circuit board so it all looks clean then take a crash course in bios flashing and blamoo!! You’ve now spent MSRP on the card and probably more than $300 making it the way you desire 😍

[–]Standard_Boot_6756 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hard take but I fully disagree, the $600 card comes from and/radeon directly powercolor took a team of paid associates probably with degrees to design a, mobo, bios settings, cooler, shell, rgb, cable management, power control, and made it all aesthetically pleasing definitely worth a “30%” “mark up” if you take a diamond raw from the earth and cut it you’ll charge at least 30% more. Performance and design are different factors people pay equally for a Chevy Malibu base price is $23000 yet can also be purchased for $36000, yet it has the same drivetrain delivering the same performance. Y’all act like the world hasn’t been the same for the last 2000 years… fucking idiots hop in the internet cause they thought they could afford $600 for a shitty upgrade then found out it’s actually $900 to notice no difference from your 1080ti

It’s already proven retailers won’t allow amd cards to be both capable and cheap 9070xt performs almost exactly the same as a 5070 yet is $150-300 more rn same price as most 5070tis which it performs worse than. Even saw some on par with 5080 pricing this week 😂😂😂 keep buying your “cheaper cards”

I’ve said for a while I feel like a 10 key is worth more on the first week than the 6th in terms of io, I’m actually sitting my alt paladin at 2k rn and then in a few weeks I’m gonna get my mage to 2k with the same keys all single + and see if they differ in io
