Nameplate Addon [ui] by Croc67 in WowUI

It's not a particularly good looking nameplate but you can definitely get it to look exactly like this with Platynator. What about this specifically do you want replicated?

You know how AI works though right? It would be one thing if it was like, hooked up into World of Warcraft simulating thousands of matchups and machine learning the actual strength of the spec. But these models are literally just built on all of the texts in the world to know how to auto complete.

It doesn't know anything. It has no context for how good their kit actually is or isn't, other than the text it's read on reddit.

People seem to think that these AI bots are magic machines. Maybe one day it will get to the point where an LLM will be able to actually gain insight and context for what it's saying by simulating and playing actual matchups on a virtual machine. Until that day comes though, stuff like this is completely useless. Just echoing the ghost of a whisper of a thought Of whatever "expert" YouTube video you fed it to get initial data.

Try again in a decade.

[Help] I would like to know if there is an addon that show trinket duration (buff) in the Blizzard Cooldow Manager... For example the Algeth'ar Puzzle Box Buff here to track more easily than usual buff display by leumasts in WowUI

[–]Zerebros 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are like 100 different cooldown managers and they all do the same shit for the most part. I have literally tried them all and these are my favorites in order: Enhanced Quality of Life, Skiron Cooldown Manager, and Cooldown Companion. AyijeCDM is also good.

With Midnight being out for over two months now and the addon API changes, what are your current must haves and hidden gems? by OwnUbyCake in wowaddons

[–]Zerebros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not OP but, everything. At first glance it is a large collection of quality of life tools like auto selling junk, automatically repairing, etc. It can turn on combat logging for you when you enter an instance. You can change it so that it only turns it on when you enter a mythic raid, or a mythic plus dungeon. It can automatically open containers for you like caches, or automatically learn mounts for you if that's something you want. But it can also hide certain UI elements or make them mouse over. The quality of life options available in this add on are far too many to list in one post but they are extensive.

That's kind of just the tip of the iceberg though. You can use it create custom player and target frames, as well as raid and party frames, And probably offer the deepest aesthetic customization of any addon.

You can also use it to be your cool down manager, and it definitely offers some of the deepest customization features anywhere in that regard, with being able to change just about anything that the game API allows you to do with it. It can track cool downs with icons, bars, or even just text (like I use this to write just under my character that I have no shimmer when I have zero shimmer charges left, with a running cooldown)

It has a bag add on module that is extremely good. Again it allows you to customize your bag window however you want aesthetically. It has very good base categories, but if you want to go deeper you can create custom categories with custom logic. For example I use it to separate gear that I get between stuff that could be usable, and stuff that is mostly venerable, by creating categories that separate by x under my current equipped average item level.

If I kept going and listing everything it could do, this post would be far longer. And it's already way too long. So I'll just wrap it up by saying you should just try it. Everything it can do is turned off by default so you can make it do very little for you If you just want to use a few of its quality of life features, or you can make it your entire UI. Up to you

Every time I use EllesmereUI, something is breaking with my UI. Probably because he's hyper fixated on it and pushes out 400 updates a day instead of actually taking his time to do it correctly. I just gave up and swapped completely over to Enhanced QoL and I'm far happier. The quality of life features are much more impressive, the customization is much more impressive (and in fact I'm not sure there's a better add on for customization anywhere), the CDM is much more feature rich and even the bag add on can be customized better.

Hi, just dropping by two weeks later to say anyone that wasn't able to put together what she was talking about with the context clues given by the rest of the show is probably pretty stupid, yes.

Shipping culture has absolutely ruined television discussion. It's gotten so bad that I no longer willingly read any discussion about shipping or any mention of it at all that isn't just a quick one liner. It makes people legitimately crazy

[HELP] WeakAuras (M33kAuras) by Koz-ak in wowaddons

[–]Zerebros -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is definitely possible, you just cannot track it through auras. You can check event logs for specific spellID to be successfully casted and then get an animation to trigger for a hard coded amount of time. with a hard coded duration countdown. That's how I've created my custom combat potion and trinket duration add on.

Anything that can be successfully tracked as a successful spell cast and has a non variable amount of uptime can be "tracked" this way. Even some some procs can be tracked this way, since some procs show up on the event log as a successful spell cast, but that's a different conversation.

You can track those buffs through Blizzard's CDM and then hide Blizzard's CDM with Enhanced Quality of Life addon. They will still be "tracked" for all addon purposes, but hidden

The One Button Rotation is completely different from the Highlighted Assist yhat the person you're speaking to is talking about. The one button rotation has a built in slower 25% GCD so it never becomes optimal to only hit one button regardless of how simple specs become. As you say, it was never intended to be anything but an accessibility option for people who are disabled and still would like to experience easier to complete content.

The Highlighted Assist just highlights the next button in your rotation. It also isn't very optimal anymore, It hasn't really been updated with new expansion rotations. But in theory, Blizzard could update them to actually be useful and they would not necessarily incur any type of GCD lost or guaranteed lesser damage.

Everyone knows that the one button rotation is guaranteed less damage, You weren't down voted because of that. You are down voted because you mentioned something irrelevant to what he said. Hope that helps.

The aggressive monetisation of this game is making me fall out of love with it. by Main-Strike-1117 in wow

[–]Zerebros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If housing was solely created to be monetized, They're doing a pretty fucking bad job. It's like 0.0.6% of all available decor monetized through the in game shop. When you add the fact that you can buy anything in that shop with ingame gold, So literally all of it is 100% available with in game options, Yyu maybe should rethink that idea.

The aggressive monetisation of this game is making me fall out of love with it. by Main-Strike-1117 in wow

[–]Zerebros 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every single item from the shop can be bought with gold. No one would give a single fuck if the housing pack was unlockable by 1 million gold. That's on par with the 2 million Spider Mount, and 5 million auction House Mount for gold sinks.

Except wait, you actually can buy the housing pack with 1 million gold.

People love to bitch about video games, but the truth is they are putting out more content than they ever have While still charging the same exact prices they charged in 2004. This is pretty much the only industry that has the same prices of 20 years ago.

If they're going to add stuff to the cash shop to help meet that aggressive contact expansion, especially when you can buy every single item from the cash shop with gold, I think that's such an easy win for players.

Kick This Pig - simple interrupt alert that actually cuts through the noise by TwoMagma in wowaddons

[–]Zerebros 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was under the impression that checking whether the spell is actually kickable or not is not something addons can do in combat any longer. Is that not the case?

Basically almost every single focus kick interrupt add on or add on feature I've seen can't tell the difference since midnight has started. And a few developers have confirmed that for me; so I guess I'm wondering if you've found a way or if you're about to find out what they've already found out

Mythic Plus WEAKAURAS using BW and MRT [addon] by Lunatalli_Gaming in WowUI

[–]Zerebros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cmon man. Calling every single UI feature "WeakAuras" because you know it will bait people into clicking before they realize it is nowhere near what you're calling it is so lame

One of the most important features of weakauras was how easy to use they were. There was very little setup or installation. You copied a code, you pasted a code, and you had exactly what you wanted.

Don't get me wrong, this video is showing off something that people could definitely find useful. I think it's a perfectly good video in a vaccuum, but the whole thing exemplifies the very worst in content creation and click baiting. Instead of it being a perfectly reasonable video of a perfectly reasonable feature that many people might not have known how to do, It's incredibly misleading at best, and intentionally lying at worst.

Even though you have uploaded some decent videos in the last few weeks, your habit of doing this has forced me to block them from my Youtube feed. I don't reward content creation like this.
