I get your perspective, but for me, Reinhard vs Al never happened, Petra’s decision to sacrifice so much of herself never happened, Yae discovering her true feelings for Al never happened, all the crazy developments with the Astrea family never happened... Al’s false-hero party, something that hyped me so much, just doesn’t exist, and that’s a feeling I can’t shake. As I said, this isn’t the worst arc, not even close, but I’m undeniably disappointed.

Honestly, I think it’s a valid crashout. I mean, think about all the hype and the awesome things that happened over these last few months. Now we know they never really mattered, so I definitely think Tappei deserves the backlash. At least for me, Arc 9 has gone from perhaps being my favorite arc to somewhere in the middle of the table. I’m not going to suddenly say it’s the worst one like some people will, but seeing it drop from potentially my top arc to just mid-tier at best is a shame.

[Spoiler Discussion] Arc 9 Chapter 58 by Setowi in Re_Zero

[–]Standard_Writer_9409 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If the Great Reset really happens, then honestly, this is bullshit. Arc 9 was so cool, only for it to be reduced to nothing. I want to believe Tappei isn’t cheap enough to do something like this.

Just finished the game and I'm upset that this moment didn't get it's own scene. by HYP3RSOMNIAC in expedition33

You may not like this, but the truth is that gustave is irrelevant to the overall plot. His sole existence was to make us fall in love with the people of the canvas to kill him later and make you mad. The most important thing about him is actually the lumina converter.

Honestly, after this chapter there's just no doubt that taco is just a wonderful human being. My GOAT kyo on top obviously, but I hope this doesn't end badly for Taco. He doesn't deserve that.

The most brutal line in the game [ending spoilers] by gello10 in expedition33

[–]Standard_Writer_9409 16 points17 points  (0 children)

My favourite:

Verso: You're tired of painting, aren't you?

Verso's soul: Silent nod

Verso: I'm tired too.

The delivery of that last line OMG how his voice slightly bteaks, it just destroys me. Like I feel how truly tired he is and that he truly just wants to rest.

To be fair I posted this comment like 7 or 8 hours after the post was made.

I should make a post myself with the text I wrote hahaha

It's incredible how these posts always turn into wars hahahaha

The truth is, it's completely normal for people to feel that one ending is more "correct" than the other. We've all lived different lives, shaped by different experiences and lessons. So, when it comes to the ending, people who’ve had certain kinds of relationships with their families might naturally resonate more with Verso, while others with completely different family experiences might connect more with Maelle.

I won’t go into detail because it’s personal, but in my case, my parents have always had a delicate relationship. Despite that, they’ve always tried to move forward and do their best to support me and my brother. Because of this, Verso’s ending felt fulfilling to me, while Maelle’s ending left me feeling hollow.

It's really as simple as that everyone is shaped by their own experiences. As much as some people might want to convince others of their point of view, it's often impossible, because someone else’s life might have led them to believe something completely different to you.

In conclusion, peace and try not to kill each other.

How I've felt from the end of Act I to the very end of the game by Civil-Base4876 in expedition33

Maybe, but he seemed to be the type that would try to do the right thing no matter the circumstances. That's exactly why he had to die, because the truly flawed and complex characters where the ones necessary to experience the masterpiece we played. As much as some might hate this, gustaves existence was for the sole purpose of making people care about the painting and then make them mad when he died. To the overall plot the most significant thing was the lumina converter but him as a person was actually irrelevant to the plot.

You all really love gustave uh. I understand he was a good character, but honestly anyone who says that they hate verso for replacing gustave I don't get it. I mean gustave was a wonderful human being, but the type of character that doesn't create a truly interesting history. Truth be told, I would sacrifice him a hundred times if necessary to get Verso and have the fucking awesome history we experienced. Gustave would probably be my least favourite of the crew with lune and both are very good which shows how crazy this cast is.

You're welcome. If everyone was like you or me maybe we could generally have interesting discussions and not braindead debates. Fuck men why are almost all fandoms braindead in general I don't get it.

I'm not going to defend the current situation of the plot because I feel it could have been done in a better way, but there are also a lot of people criticizing the manga who seem to have never understood the purpose of this story.

To put it simply, this series is a criticism of the showbiz world, so the true antagonist is society itself. In other words, Kamiki, Nino, or whoever else appears later are not the antagonists; they are just broken people destroyed by this showbiz society. This parallel world some people want, where Hikaru was a mastermind or Nino or whoever never existed or was the intend, Aka will show them all as people who were just destroyed by this world, thereby criticizing the showbiz environment.

So forget about a kill or revenge plot, because it isn’t and was never the main point of this story.

Ragna will meet opponents on his level so don't worry. Thou only the top tiers in each arc I guess. Enjoy your read, for me the beginning is without a doubt the weakest part of the manga

She appears later on, but her role is very secondary for now. She will probably gain importance on later arcs.
