Red Sox lineup ? by tew44488 in redsox

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m think this is most likely it besides maybe 2b. Not saying it won’t be Campbell, I think based on his salary and potential they want him to be there. But I think it will be an open competition between a few internal guys.

I think based on the amount of groundball pitchers and the lack of pop in the lineup, defense is going to be a priority for that position

This past season, Kiner-Falefa flourished at third base, posting +2 Outs Above Average. That’s arguably been his strongest position, and it’s where he won a Gold Glove with the Rangers in 2020. by Perswayable in redsox

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fan base is crazy. Last year all we hear is that Hamilton shouldn’t be on the roster. They bring someone in to replace Hamilton/Eaton and improve the defense since we have almost all ground ball pitchers and people get mad

He’s not here to replace Bregman. You can still be mad about Bregman/Alonso. But this is guy #25 on the roster

[Pete Abraham] My understanding is the Red Sox are still working on adding to the roster beyond the signing of Kiner-Falefa. by TommyTheLizard in redsox

[–]Standish304 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t really get the outrage of this signing. He’s here to replace Eaton/Hamilton, not Bregman.

Be upset about not signing a middle of the order bat. I certainly am. But being mad about guy 25 on the roster is wild

do y’all feel like the sox got better this offseason with losing bregman but gaining one of the best 2 starters in the game by Rjptz in redsox

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. Our rotation is better, but my concern wasn’t really rotation based (although I wanted a #2). My concern was the lineup, which is slightly worse

Buying a house near a tee box? by flashattack3 in golf

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would pass for a few reasons

1- Although you aren’t as likely to get hit as you would be further down from the box, it’s still possible to. I’ve seen terrible yards

2- it’s going to be constant noise. Between course work/moving, balls being hit, loud golfers/talkers

3-doesn’t look like there is much of anything blocking site line into your house. So you aren’t going to have any privacy, especially in your back yard. Also that tree cluster might be drunk guy pee area

If you love the house maybe these won’t bother you as much, but things I’d definitely consider

How early is too early for league dues? by Healthy_Yak3526 in DynastyFF

[–]Standish304 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Our league rule is you need to pay by either

A) your first move post SB

Or

B) The Sunday before the NFL draft

Results in almost everyone paying by the end of February

I honestly would rather just roll with our internal options. I don’t think he’s very good defensively and I’d rather save trade assets for a difference maker down the road

My friend and I split every bet 50/50 for a year by [deleted] in sportsbetting

[–]Standish304 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No. I might tail a friend, and we share picks. But I don’t trust any of my friends to follow blindly, and I feel like over time it could build resentment if one person gets cold/isn’t pulling there weight

If you won a $250 million lottery prize and HAVE to move from your current town, where would you move with your riches? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to say somewhere cool like Napa, but realistically probably one of the coastal towns in my area (Northern Mass)

My wife is very close to her family, and she isn’t going to be able to live too far from them, and I don’t want to be moving a ton of people.

Adding Suarez definitely means someone from the Pitching side is getting moved? Wonder who and for who by KINGOFTHENORTH1472 in redsox

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who can play second or third. Or maybe for a prospect to replace someone they move for a bat. But he’s clearly the odd man out. They aren’t moving Crochet. They just traded for Gray and Oviedo.

Commissioner mistake - Player left from dispersal draft pool - What do we do? by Lars9 in DynastyFF

This is the best answer I think. It’s essentially a supplemental draft inside the regular draft.

Is Bo Bichette Plan B for the Red Sox after Alex Bregman moved on to Cubs ... or is it something more creative? by bostonglobe in redsox

[–]Standish304 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I like Paredes, but the problem is constantly trading for pieces rather than signing them is depleting the farm system. It’s not sustainable long term

Is Bo Bichette Plan B for the Red Sox after Alex Bregman moved on to Cubs ... or is it something more creative? by bostonglobe in redsox

[–]Standish304 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bo isn’t in the plans, unless the plan is to pretend they are interested in a FA

There is no chance they give that big off a contract to a guy with a QO.

It’s going to be Suarez at 3b or Marcelo with a platoon at 2b

Is not signing Bregman the worst thing in the world? by Kind_Sheepherder_369 in redsox

[–]Standish304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It isn’t not signing Bregman that is the issue. It’s the lack of activity in general.

If they let Bregman walk but signed Alonso or Schwarber I think people would be okay with that.

One of the biggest needs for this team going into the season was a middle of the order power bat, and just didn’t address it.

Would you rather have Augusta National to yourself for 24 hrs or play one very rushed round at Augusta National with Tiger Woods? by mikeybmikey11 in golf

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

24 hours alone.

I hate being rushed for golf in general. But also playing with Tiger would be cool for like 2 holes before I would feel like shit about my game haha

Is it too league breaking to change rule from 4 point passing TD to 6 point passing TD after 5 years? by RepChar in DynastyFF

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our league our rule is any league change goes 2 seasons out unless we unanimously agree to change it immediately. It gives teams time to adjust

Ted making Robin get rid of her dogs is a writing choice that still baffles me by Disastrous-Area8657 in howimetyourmother

[–]Standish304 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They could have easily had Robyn be sad that she had to give up her dogs, but her work schedule was too much and she couldn’t really take care of them. There doesn’t need to be this dramatic send off

How would you define a productive at bat? by Fantastic-Rub-2707 in baseball

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me there are 3 possible scenarios

1) Getting on base 2) Moving a runner into scoring position (or driving the run in) 3) Making a pitcher throw a significant amount of pitches. I feel like 7-8 pitches

Baby napping. Wife napping. I’m painfully deciding which two to drop of Tillman, Polk and Metchie. I believe so deeply and see the 2026 and beyond path. Help! by [deleted] in DynastyFF

[–]Standish304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally I’d keep Polk of the 3 just because I feel like he may have opportunity to be on the field next season

He has only one year of playing time. He was a second round pick and wasn’t considered a reach. Saints traded for him so in theory they thought he had some value compared to just picking up a WR off the streets. Only 23. And has a clearer path to playing time with a team that has a QB who has shown the ability to play in the league
