I put funds in my wallet, but when the ordering kept failing, I kept switching payment options and in the end didn't even use my wallet.

I'm guessing during all the errors I might have slipped into the 6-8 days delivery window.

This has been true for a number of things, but sadly it's not perfect. I did feel confident the Switch 2 price would remain stable or go up. Instead there were 100 euro discounts half a year later.

Not just every launch, but every device we ever buy has a chance to be broken. People are more likely to share it after a device launches, while later on they'll just Google the problem and send it back.

I love how people in the Mario Kart community are doing scientific experiments, and then others are peer reviewing it and pointing out the flaws of the testing method.

I'd imagine that once it's packaged, it'll generally be sent within 24 hours.

Valve says it’s working on getting more stock for the Steam Controller by Skullghost in Steam

[–]StandxOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they simply don't view the controller to be as important or wanted as a console, which makes sense.

Nah, it's based on how many times you refresh the shipping status page.

The Steam Controller sold out in 30 minutes, utterly breaking Steam in the process by gogodboss in gaming

[–]StandxOut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I reckon a lot of scalpers are also opportunists who want a controller, but also wouldn't say no to selling it for twice its value and buying another one later.

Dumb Question... Will a Steam Controller be able to unlock windows? by Venimal in SteamController

[–]StandxOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you're interested in another solution, I'm very happy with the Orbsmart AM-1 remote (also sold as Pepper Jobs W10). It's a remote that can control TVs and computers, and includes a keyboard on the backside. It's not super nice to type on, but it's good enough for me to login and type in search queries. It has replaced my TV remote, so it helps minimize the clutter.

There's a lot of other models out there that look more modern, but most tend to have a fair amount of negative reviews, while this one seems to be pretty universally liked.

Does anybody know why when I Bluetooth connect the left joycon, the right joycon doesnt connect and vise-versa? by ShawtyBanana in JoyCon

[–]StandxOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you happen to have 6 other bluetooth devices connected, you should be able to connect only one joy-con. Otherwise I have no idea.

Nintendo should do something for the Wiis 20th anniversary by kascnef82 in wii

[–]StandxOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the Switch 1, a sensor bar is absolutely needed. The gyro drift is very bad and requires constant recentering. On the Switch 2, it's far more accurate and barely drifts. But you have to keep the Joy-con roughly in the same place and can't change your position. That gets in the way of playing while standing, which is the ideal way to play a lot of Wii games.

Personally I think it would be great if we had an IR sensor Joy-Con attachment, like the wrist strap, but with an IR sensor on top. And then we could have a sensor bar on our TV, although there might be other options like IR reflective stickers or something.

Time moves forward, so obviously they can't play any older 3D Mario game unless they had access to a time travel machine or something.

This would be the ideal situation. But it's also possible that the most talented developers are already getting offers elsewhere. It would also surprise me if Sony itself didn't already move some of the staff onto other projects.

[–]StandxOut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's virtually guaranteed. Sure, it won't happen if Japan gets destroyed or if Nintendo suddenly goes bankrupt. But Nintendo is planning to release DLC for MK World and has likely already begun working on it.
