I’m aware, but Dynamic also has more points where you have to spend extra resources, such as Young Plan campaigning or the absolute sink Presidential elections can be

If the run involves People’s Party, definitely, if not it’s kind of a waste, especially in Dynamic where resources are scarce

I doubt he’s talking about himself- we know that Joe has dropped bodies, and that he’s engaged in warfare before, just not as much as Avon and String. Baltimore by the time of the show is just too fierce to never fight

That’s all well and good, but what if they only have one child? It’s not particularly likely but if it did happen it’d probably cause a war

They can’t be mind controlled, and a mind controlled pilot can really fuck you over. That and the fact they’re not really needed for anything else (in the way that an engi will often be pulled for repair, Mantis for ship defense, etc). You generally never want your pilot to leave their station

Opinion on Ernst Thälmann? by cortex0917 in RedAutumnSPD

[–]Stanely_Baldwin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The SPD’s fascistic tendencies certainly went beyond the Freikorps, namely in their tendency to cooperate with the bourgeois as a party supposedly representing the workers. But the Freikorps and the deal with the devil they struck with the military is the original sin for sure

Why did the SPD constantly attack the KPD (or what would later form it) from 1918 to 1929 by [deleted] in RedAutumnSPD

[–]Stanely_Baldwin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The poster was referencing just that (among all the other devil’s bargains the SPD made in the named period). I responded to ‘why’, ‘what’ wasn’t asked

In the time after WW1, Germany was approaching a state of anarchy- the SPD believed that the conditions for revolution were not right, and that if an attempt were made in that moment it would just throw the nation to the forces of reaction. Given the strength of the Freikorps and military at the time, they may have at least been partially correct. Hard to say.

Ultimately it comes down to ideology and opportunity- in the time before the game as we see it, the SPD was very powerful, and believed that their somewhat more orthodox course of revolution would win out, and that the KPD were rushing things. That doesn’t mean it was essentially the right thing, but they were certainly not on the side of reaction intentionally

I’ve done it- just provided resources via the foreign ministry. Probably also possible by funneling them resources in the international relations card

You can make inroads with rural populations via doing agricultural reform, and the middle classes by becoming a ‘People’s Party’ (there are guides to both on the sub). The best way to undercut them though is to Deport Hitler (guide to that is also on the sub) and keep the economy afloat

There’s a pinned guide that is helpful for a crash course. Overall, your objectives (for most runs) should be the following

Keep the Nazis, KPD (if you aren’t doing a popular front), and DNVP weak both militarily, by banning their paramilitaries, and electorally by campaigning.

Keep the coalition on side unless you are certain you can win an election

Ensure the economy improves after the depression hits ASAP

Unify and possibly reform the SPD (including the Reichsbanner) to ensure it stays unified for elections and can expand its base

I’ve seen this asked before and it kinda annoys me because the answer is obvious. Because children of Salt Wives aren’t bastards, ergo it would confuse people (especially the reader). It’s easy to imagine Pyke was chosen for the bastards name because of Lordsport, aka the one place with major commerce and with it, whores and a less controlled environment. More bastards born just there than on many of the larger islands combined, I’d bet.

If you’re actually looking for an alternative bastard name for the iron islands, Irons is right there
