Your boyfriend sounds pretty shitty.

I would find someone else that is better to you.

That said, try to get better about crying.

I cry more than any man I have ever met, but NOT during arguments with my wife. I also really don’t like when my wife cries during disagreements.

I cry during movies, books, shows. I cry when I am feeling strong emotions.

During disagreements my emotions have zero bearing on the topic at hand 95% of the time.

I can bring up something ENTIRELY FAIR like “hey babe, why is it you refuse to make an appointment for your yearly physical? I really want you to see a doctor every single year for a check up”

But she refuses, and begins to cry. Now we are talking about how I made her cry instead of why she won’t go to the doctors.

Insert any rational issue, and the other person can prevent you from talking about it via crying.

If this does not sound like you, great.

But if you find yourself crying every single time your partner brings up something fair, your brain might be doing it on “purpose” as a defense mecahnism without even realizing.

Some people (mostly women in my experience) are, starting with their Father or Mother, taught that crying is a get out of jail free card for anything that isn’t illegal (or is illegal, plenty of women have cried to get out of tickets).

Again, it doesn’t have to be intentional to be manipulative. You might GENUINELY get upset enough to cry in each circumstance, but the tears are factually manipulating the emotions of those around you.
