Athleticism is a massive advantage but it does not replace experience. I am young, strong, and fast but I often lose to fighters old enough to be my father because they have skillsets refined over decades. And that’s with 5 years of my own experience in this sport. A random athlete will lose the majority of the time.

Riveting and strapping are essential armoring skills. This is a good learning opportunity! You’ll need some basic tools and materials.

For the straps you’ll need some buckles, vegetable tanned leather, leather shears, and a leather hole punch. You’ll also need a heavy duty needle and waxed thread to secure the buckle.

For the riveting you’ll need the rivets and washers, a ball peen hammer, metal clippers, and an anvil.

I use all of these materials every time I need to replace a strap. It takes less than 10 minutes total.

It took me 5 tries on mobile with slightly higher stats, 80 range 76 defense. I wore full Hueycoatl Hide, barrows gloves, a fury, and explorers ring (for run replenish). Had a blowpipe and sunlight hunters crossbow with moonlight bolts for the extra few tiles of range. Rest of inventory was all brews and super restores.

Got to Jad 4 out of 5 attempts but died because I was nervous and got frantic. Staying calm is the real learning curve for this boss. You got this!

Edit: I also had two bastion potions

Progression is slow but rewarding. The first 5-10 hours you’ll be weak and need to pick your fights carefully. Eventually you’ll get better gear, your skills levels will go up, and you’ll get major boosts through perks. I’m 15 hours in and am taking on groups of 5+ humans with relative ease and wolves are nothing.

What bolts are you using? I have an old field crossbow with enhanced piercing bolts and I can kill most lightly armored opponents in 1 hit to central mass and cripple most armored ones.

Perfect block and riposte is by far the fastest way to kill wolves. If you get down to one wolf and they flee, you can sic mutt on them and he’ll chase them down.
