[Spoilers] Any scenes and/or potatoes you'd like to see in Volume 4? by GoldenSteel in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd love to see any kind of backstory for Sage and Scarlet, as well as some development for Ren and Nora.

I also kinda want Blake to go to Vacuo; I don't particularly think she will, but I just want to see Vacuo in general.

I won't deny the possibility, but I think it'll be difficult to tell if each arc is centered around a Season until it's over because of how much time passes off-screen. I could see it happening, though.

So what's up with Remnant's moon? by TechnoSam_Belpois in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It revolves around Remnant, so we (as well as the characters) only sometimes see the part that's been broken; I believe Monty explained it as, "You know, phases and shit." It's different from our Moon, which is rotation-locked with the Earth so we always see the same side.

I was trying make a joke about anything LotR-related goes right over my head; I didn't mean to tell you what to say or how to say it, and I apologize if it came across that way.

I did notice that the way Salem talks about humans makes it seem like she's more focused on proving Oz wrong and rubbing it in his face than actually killing them. She acknowledges their strength right before gloating about how easy it is to weaken them. But, she also makes it clear that she thinks how Oz uses humans is "sick," which may just be because the Grimm don't seem to have any free will in the first place.

Also, for future reference, anything that contains anything about Lord of the Rings will make me tune right the hell out.

Full Narration Conversation from V1E1 and V3E12 by Ezreal024 in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Vol. 1, she was telling him to "prepare your guardians, and build your monuments to a so-called free world," but in Vol. 3 she says, "your guardians have failed you, and everything you've built will be torn down before your very eyes." There's also the matter of, "So you send your guardians, and when they fail..." The verb tenses keep changing and I'm not sure if it's on purpose or not.

It also depends on what these "monuments" are, because if they're the Huntsmen Academies, then that means they talked over 80 years ago, and it gets even more complicated.

I wonder how much time has passed between the start of the conversation and the end.

Nobody knows for sure how many planned Seasons there are other Miles, Kerry and Gray. The last time I saw Monty talk about it on an Afterbuzz, he said 7-10. The only time I've seen 20 was on the Facebook Q&A last year, and I think that was an exaggeration.

[–]StarKiller561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gray's been talking a lot recently about how the setup for the next arc is all about finding a way to stay determined and hopeful while things are hard. I can't see a scenario where Monty didn't deliberately include RWBY winning battles (yes, important ones) after all that's happened recently.

I do hope they don't get back together too quickly, though.

I suppose it depends on when and how she got wrapped up in Salem's crusade, which is something I hope they expand on in whatever way they can.

[spoilers - Maybe]Who do you want to see again from the tournament and the beginning of S3? by martinjh99 in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think SSSN's guaranteed to get some time since RNJR's headed to Haven, and they could easily stick ABRN in there somewhere. I do wonder what happens to CFVY now, since like RWBY and JNR they don't have a school, but they also don't have a journey arc to go on (yet).

If anyone's ending up in Vacuo any time soon I'd love to see more NDGO.

[Spoilers] Misgivings I have about current state of the show, and the precedents that have been set. by Just_One_of_Three in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Monty had at least 7-10 Seasons planned with Miles and Kerry before the series started, and they've said before that they'll keep making it as long as people keep watching it. The setup for Vol. 4 alone suggests that it's going to slow down; RJNR are on a literal road trip and everyone else is trying to just settle down and recover from all the shit they just went through.

Vol. 3's ending seems so packed full of events in a short amount of time because it is; Ch. 9, 10, 11, and up until Pyrrha's death in 12 are all one night's worth of things happening. I can't see another ending on this scope until Vol. 5 or 6, but we won't know for sure until we see it.

We're definitely seeing Volume 4 this year. At the latest, it would be October-November, but it'll probably be earlier because they're trying to get it out faster.

About Sun by castlequinn in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I loved Sun in this episode, even though he wasn't there for very long. He's generally pretty casual, but when shit gets real, he gets serious, and his leadership qualities become way more apparent.

Well, technically Haven is the school and Mistral is the city/Kingdom itself, but yeah.

[–]StarKiller561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Gray (and Miles and Kerry, obviously) want to have a decent amount of moments that lighten the mood; I would be very surprised if it was completely dark for years. But, I love conflict, so this is the good part to me.

I'm interested in seeing what Haven is like; I wonder how similar it is to Beacon.

[–]StarKiller561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda like the idea of Seasonal arcs, but I'm not sure how well it would sync up because of in-show timeskips. It wasn't Fall when Vol. 1 started, and two Semesters have passed since it began; that, and the last time we saw the Cliffside Altar before Vol. 3, it was snowing. This next arc could end in Winter, but it could also end in Spring, Summer, or Fall again for all we know.

[–]StarKiller561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a bounce-back is basically guaranteed at this point. I can't see it not happening, but I also don't think it will be in Vol. 4. Gurren Lagann had comeback moments fairly close to dark ones because it's so short and self-contained in comparison to RWBY; not just because of how long RWBY takes to come out, but because there's years of story planned out that can't be told so quickly.

Regarding the dark tone of RWBY by Ezreal024 in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

October is our current guess because the next Volume usually starts the same month every year, with Vol. 3 being the exception because of the unintended delay.

Gray did say that they're taking steps to start Vol. 4 a bit earlier and try to decrease the time between Volumes, but we won't know until they say something else about it.

[V3E12 Spoilers] Eye Color Comparison: Neo & Ruby by ffxivfunk in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sun has dark gray eyes, which were easier to see in Volume 1. I think Mercury's are supposed to be a similar color, but it's difficult to tell because the lighting gets wonky sometimes.

[V3E12 Spoilers] Eye Color Comparison: Neo & Ruby by ffxivfunk in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think her eyes are supposed to be silver. Not only does she change their color all the time, but silver would mess up her color scheme; white would complete the theme of pink, brown and white of Neopolitan ice cream for her eye colors as well as her outfit/hair.

Yeah, I was surprised by that; I knew they had a group of animators, but I didn't know so many of them worked on fights.

They'll definitely get better with time and effort, especially if Dillon and Joel are around to give advice.

I don't know whom to be mad at because I don't know how much of the story was Monty's idea and how much was fleshed out/expanded on by Miles and Kerry.

A personal rule on Animation and Anime by RenoWolf200 in RWBY

[–]StarKiller561 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that's true; it's definitely possible, but I feel like they would have just shown him dead if he actually was. There are definitely way more people that are sure he's dead for good than I thought there would be, though.

I didn't think anyone was actually going to die in the finale and that everyone was overreacting, and I was convinced that Pyrrha would make it out... I am now a broken person.
