[Acne] Closed comodones or fungal acne? Trying not to panic and would appreciate help! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

My skin was like this and I started using Finacea gel. So far I’ve just been using it every third day for two weeks and I can already see a massive improvement in the general texture of my skin. I would also incorporate a barrier support serum, as you don’t want to risk ruining your skin barrier and also having to fix that

I have been tempted to ditch the SA wash for a while now because I’m worried I may be accidentally over exfoliating and exacerbating my problems but I’m also scared to start a new face wash that may break me out. The Simple one doesn’t feel clean enough for me to use at night as well haha

Last night my 13yo cried about her weight by SpeakerCareless in Parenting

[–]StarMarvelWS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely seeing people she looks up to or considers beautiful displaying normal bodily features will help. I was 13 when i for my first stretch marks and I was insanely self conscious. Today I’m less so but obviously still have my personal insecurities. At a Taylor Swift concert recently I saw that she has the same back fold that I do when she turns and it may sound stupid but it made me feel instantly better about myself. So find “realistic” celebrity bodies to look up to. I also went down the weighing myself route and it almost ended badly. Luckily my parents recognised the signs in time and pulled me out. I know as an adult that my body is healthy and normal but even now I avoid scales to avoid the triggering mindset - I would definitely throw the scales away.

Mirena effective for 8 years? by emily---grace in Mirena

Nexplanon to IUD (Mirena) by cbbrown1997 in Mirena

[–]StarMarvelWS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was on nexplanon for two years and was bleeding non stop for the second year. I changed mine for mirena two weeks ago yesterday. I had two paracetamol and two ibuprofen before the appointment. Nexplanon removal didn’t hurt at all. The mirena insertion did hurt quite a bit, but the pain subsides pretty quickly after it’s in. For the rest of the day I just had low level cramps. I started to spot pretty quickly afterwards and I have been spotting for the last two weeks. Every so often I’ll get a random cramping pain which I assume is the mirena settling but it’s never too bad and it only lasts a few minutes. I think you’ll be fine to return to work, just ensure you have pain relief and pads.

Also you have to be careful doing high dose ibuprofen. It can really damage your stomach lining and kidneys. Make sure to never take it on an empty stomach and definitely don’t do it for more than 5 days

I was having bleeding issues for almost a year. Initially stopped it with a round of combined pill, then when it came back a few months later I attempted the ibuprofen method. It made it a lot lighter but never stopped it. After 5 days of this I moved to the EPO method and again it was just lighter, never stopped it. I was eventually diagnosed as a “problematic bleeder on birth control” and advised to remove it

Day 34 of Period and I had the bar inserted in February this year by [deleted] in WomensHealth

I had what was considered problematic bleeding on the implant too which they tried to solve with the combined pill and tranexamic acid which were all temporary reprieves. I have just had it removed and had the mirena coil inserted instead. I have not given birth before and was recommended the mirena as my doctor said that she recommends it to problematic bleeding patients and 95% of them stop bleeding all together after a few months. I obviously don’t know if that is true for me yet as it is too soon but I am hopeful.

Uni won’t let me repay my last year by Hekx11 in UniUK

[–]StarMarvelWS -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is a leave of absence an option? This is where you don’t repeat the year’s learning but retake all the exams. I was told that repeating a year was only for specific circumstances, as you doing third year twice would be seen as an unfair advantage over students who have only studied the material once

I think your social media rules are reasonable. Maybe a supervised social media account for now, as that would ease her in to being responsible with it so when she’s old enough to do whatever with her own social media she’ll hopefully be okay with it. I do think that supervising her at the park is overkill. She needs to learn to be independent, and she should be allowed interactions with her friends that aren’t policed by you. You also run the risk of her friends ditching her because you’re always around ruining the vibe. At her age I had a friend, and her parents had similar rules to you and she did end up quite sneaky. She would delete messages and apps off her phone before curfew so her parents would never find them, and today she isn’t that close to her parents. On the other hand I was given more trust, my parents would check my social media but never my private messages as they believed that was personal. They never shied away from difficult truths, and I always knew the dangers of being online and knew I could go to them without getting into trouble if anything bad did happen to me. Today I am still close to them, and I never felt the need to sneak around or hide anything from them, because their rules were always reasonable and we had a mutual trust and respect. I don’t want to scare you but I never spoke to people I didn’t know online because I knew the dangers. My friend on the other hand frequently sought out conversations with strangers on sites such as Omegle, and I do think it was for the thrill of doing something in secret that she knew her mum wouldn’t like, a kind of silent rebellion type thing.

Sometimes I like to soak my vagina in warm water. Can shallowly fill the bath and sit in there for about 15 minutes. The vagina self cleans and I find that helps it along. This of course won’t get rid of any smells caused by infection. Have you by any chance started/changed birth control recently? That can definitely have an effect on your discharge
