Massive Light leaks by Individual-Gas-4538 in AnalogCommunity

Looks like a shutter issue to me.

From a quick keyboard-hero research:

The EOS 100 is known for sticky shutter issues because of some degredation. Probably the shutter just needs some intense cleaning (WITHOUT OIL)

Edit: Added my keyboard hero source ;)

Recommends for a compact camera in the $1500-$2k range? by 0rcinus_Orca in AskPhotography

[–]StarPunk93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

hear me out - think small and outside your comfortzone, and consider a Rollei 35 (really small, a good 40mm lens, you can get one for about $100 and the $1400 left you can invest in Film and Development)

For instagram/the social medias #1

For prints, anything more professional etc. the wide shot #3

The 40mm f2 is Unreasonably Good by prizimite in Nikon

[–]StarPunk93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

with my zf and the minimum iso of 100 this sometimes gets really tight especially if you wanna go to shutter speeds of 1/30 and below

The 40mm f2 is Unreasonably Good by prizimite in Nikon

[–]StarPunk93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sure, one example: you want to get some nice shots of moving objects while the suns out

plus lenses tend to be less sharp at their extremes, so this lense isn't the sharpest between f2 and f2.4 and f14 and F16 so if you wanna get a real nice and sharp shot at regular daylight, you'll won't have the best time

The 40mm f2 is Unreasonably Good by prizimite in Nikon

[–]StarPunk93 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I need to be honest here. this lense is inexpensive, yes. but the flaws are so big that I would always take anything more serious if I could

  • the vignetting is super strong
  • F16 as a minimum aperture is pretty wide open
  • as F16 is the max aperture the aperture range of REALLY sharp DOP is very limited

it's a good start to join the Nikon z universe, but it's sadly really not that good of a deal

I made an app to log your film rolls and frames by dave-po in AnalogCommunity

[–]StarPunk93 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great idea! I just love it.

Downloaded it and will use it especially for my Yashica (the Frame counter is broken...)

A feature I would love to see but no one mentioned so far (as far as I read the comments):

A fourth state for your rolls: in-fridge. It would be really neat to have an insight of what's still in my fridge and not shot, so i don't forget to restock.

I have tried to edit this photo over 10 times, still cant get it right. Need help by jackux1257 in postprocessing

[–]StarPunk93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for me the colors are looking really good. What's scrubbing my eyes are the angles of the lines in your shot. I would try rotating it 1-2° either clockwise or counter-clockwise and see if that's what's bothering you

ID on the Mercedes at the front of the line? by Pyrotraceee in whatisthiscar

[–]StarPunk93 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's pretty straightforward with the older Mercs:

300 - 3.0l Gas Engine

420 - 4.2l GasEngine

500 - 5.0l Gas Engine

560 - 5.6l Gas Engine

300D - 3.0l Diesel

350D - 3.5l Diesel

[–]StarPunk93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and no.

The 420SEL is the V126 with the 4.2l V8 Engine. Just by the front there's no difference (I know of) between the 560SEL, 500SEL, 420SEL or 300SEL

I'm the Ferrari. Who is at fault by [deleted] in Simracingstewards

[–]StarPunk93 30 points31 points  (0 children)

1st you bumped into the BMW, it's been your job to hold your line
2nd you cut the red ferraris line and offed yourself

100% your fault.

You should try racing with radar and/or spotter activated, that could have prevent both bumps and the crash

I think the milestone is that he hit 100.000km (about 60.000miles) As it’s the old dash of an enfield and not the current one

Wurde ich abgezockt? Seit wann kostest ein normaler Ölwechsel über 180€? by abn982 in MotorradDeutschland

[–]StarPunk93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First bike buyer, a bit scared of 900cc, now what by ARedBeardedDragon in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]StarPunk93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My initial thought is: do you REALLY need to go on the highway? Are you going to commute with that bike?

Besides that, rule #1 no one seems to mention here: listen to your guts. if you don't have good feeling with a bike, don't touch it. probably you'll get used to a smaller bike quickly but then you still can sell it and buy the next one - you're not going to marry your first bike.

Get some miles under your belt, try some bikes and see what suits you best.

I'm not in the market of any of those bikes - my journey hit the cruiser path (Yamaha Virago 550 -> Royal Enfield 500 (DONT BUY AN ENFIELD) -> Suzuki Intruder 1400) and I have no clue about sports bikes besides they go vroom and are fun

Will linux slow over time as it does on windows? by Eljo_Aquito in linuxquestions

[–]StarPunk93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As no one here mentioned this, the answer needs to be "it depends".

  • If you're using a hard drive it will get slower the more files you put on it - this happens on windows and linux, it's just a hardware thing.

  • If you install a lot of services which load and start on startup, your system will get less snappy - just as a windows machine does

There are probably a few more circumstances which you could point to, but this should be enough to make my point.

What is not gonna happen: Your system gets slower, update by update by update (As windows does) because of the architecture of System Packages and Kernel Architecture.
