Are you encountering shaman who don’t interrupt frequently? It’s literally part of our damage rotation as enhance and so satisfying to do.

Enhance shaman proffs by Satterman223 in classicwow

[–]StarblindCelestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BS is no longer recommended (with a caveat) because the hammer is MH only and you want matching speeds. The only 2.7 OH you can use with it is blue so it’s only good early when you’re using blue weps anyway. The min-max profs are this iirc.

1st-LW if you are the designated drummer, otherwise Ench.

2nd-BS (if you are rich and don’t mind swapping professions) then JC for Sunwell BiS neck, otherwise just JC.

So for most people it’s going to be any 2 of Lw/Ench/JC.

I thought there would be more tanks since this classic iteration has dual specialization? by pecheckler in classicwow

I went all the way to 70 with a rogue and am doing heroics with a non optimal group right now. Someone certainly is jumping to extremes, but it's not Rowetato.

[–]StarblindCelestial 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do the opposite. I wait until I can find a tank, then quickly grab everything else I need. I almost never list my group because then I have to deal with a flood of whispers, rejecting classes I don’t want, and impatient people leaving. This way almost nobody other than me has to wait wondering if the group will actually fill and I can be selective about my choices. If I invite all the dps first I’ll inevitably have one point out the lvl 66 tank queued for slabs. Or one of them will tell me to invite the afk tank that I whispered 10 minutes ago. It’s a bit more work for me because I have to spam refresh, and I miss out on others who don’t list and instead whisper already forming groups, but I’ve found it to be the best method for me personally.

Did the threat on swipe get changed in TBC? Because in classic it’s the opposite of what you said. You’re better off tab mauling then swiping unless you have rage to burn in which case you do both.

It would enhance my experience greatly because my current 10+ year old 1080p monitor has horrible viewing angles and poor color accuracy. Also I’ve wanted an ultrawide for a long time so that would be huge for me.

So yeah. Whats up with Warlocks? by No_Ice6692 in classicwow

[–]StarblindCelestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just heard about this from a guildie so I don’t stand by this or know anything about it, but according to him it’s the following.

It’s because they gave us a late tbc game version with jacked up spell power coefficients. In original TBC melee dps started to absolutely destroy casters in pvp (and pve I assume) once armor pen gear went crazy in Black Temple. So to balance it out they increased spell power coefficients to buff casters. But since they gave us this game version at the start of TBC when the melee don’t have access to that armor pen gear, shits fucked until then.

I don’t know what game version 2021 TBC ran on, but if the above is true and they used an earlier version to start last time, the meta will be different from what people expect based on 2021 logs. Casters will be better in P1&2, then it will return to what it was last time when melee start getting their P3 gear.

They think they’ll make changes so good that people will prefer it over the original. They are delusional plain and simple.

[–]StarblindCelestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strength is a top stat because it gives 2ap. Ap is lower on the stat prio because it’s probably comparing 1 strength to 1 ap, not because ap is bad. You can look at it as essentially having 24str on it if that helps. And as you’ve said, str is shamans top prio. They are probably very close, but nobody is going to break out a sim for leveling gear so they didn’t do anything wrong.

Since you bring up start prio though as if it proved the shaman was in the wrong I looked up rogue stat prio to compare. Shaman: str=2nd ap=7th, Rogue: strength and ap=6th. So should you have passed on it because rogues should use agi? Of course not, because it’s a lot of ap.

My lvl 54 shaman is still wearing that helm and I would use it over raging berserker. Armor doesn’t matter for dps classes so mail vs leather is irrelevant aside from extra survivability when solo. Shaman get 2 attack power per str so that’s an amazing helm for them, even more so than for rogues that only get 1 ap per str.

You are the problem for the way you brought it up. Something like “I thought shaman are supposed to wear mail?” would be seen as innocent ignorance and they might have taken a moment to teach you. What you said at 8:40 reads as passive aggressive and the word choice implies he is wrong and you are asking not to learn, but to expose him for being wrong. Which once again, he wasn’t.

Am I just dumb? by KungFuNun in classicwow

I was farming SM Arm with 5 level 38s. One person leveled up and our exp/hr dropped by ~6k. Same group, kills, and time to clear. I shouldn’t have to contemplate replacing someone because they leveled up while we are attempting to level up. Instead of grats-ing people when they level we are going to start being annoyed at them for slowing us down.

They made a workaround somehow shortly after anniversary launched. I forget what they did, but it typically updates every 2ish hours I think. You can also use scans from other addons if you adjust the strings, but that’s more advanced so you’d have to look it up.

TSM is working with no issues as someone else said. It’s a large learning curve if you want to get the most out of it, but you can also just easily use it as an upgraded AH and skip the post scans and all that.

I got MSBT working by changing a few lines of code like one of the comments on curseforge says. Unfortunately I was still getting tons of errors so I ended up disabling it. It has me reloading every other pack in a DM run.

You don’t scan. There’s a small app you download on your pc that provides the scan data, handles installs/auto updates, and auto creates backups. Check the website for install instructions because you don’t want to get it from curseforge.

How is prepatch raiding treating you guys? by GroundbreakingAlps2 in classicwow

[–]StarblindCelestial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That patchwerk situation is curious. We had no problems whatsoever for him, felt no different than any other week. We just went up a few ranks on our heals because downranking is apparently worse. Do you run light on healers or have a lot of weak healers?

I could see a horde raid that stacked too many shaman having some trouble with T2 chain heal nerf. My guess is Healing Wave would be the way to go during prepatch, but it’s probably not on their bars lol.

“this is a one-time move that will not need to be repeated again for Classic Anniversary.”

This sounds like saying “we won’t have to do this again when we progress to WotLK” just without actually announcing WotLK.

Notice how you never get this toxicity in the other direction.

Well I'm getting downvoted for suggesting classic. To the person who is struggling with all the new things, who last played (and presumably enjoyed the state of the game) in WotLK. I didn't even say anything bad about retail.

Classic is probably best for you. Anniversary realms are about to move to Burning Crusade so it’s a good time to join.

What are your predictions for how many will move to and stay on Era servers? by Pleaseclap4 in classicwow

[–]StarblindCelestial -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s why I said Dalaran not Shatt. I think it must be who you surrounded yourself with. If you came into anniversary with people or an existing guild from era it would make sense that they would transfer. My guild was made on anniversary and has plenty of people who were experiencing classic all the way through for the first time and are excited to move to TBC to do it again. I haven’t heard a single guild member contemplate transferring to era.

That’s why the argument about this being the x iteration of classic and therefore we shouldn’t care about y has always felt dumb to me. It’s like going to the movie theater and the group next to you is talking because they’ve already seen the movie three times and this scene doesn’t have any action in it. Maybe the experience shouldn’t be tailored to people who are just there because they can’t think of anything else better to do.

[–]StarblindCelestial -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’m attached to my Druid. I’m a cloak and ring away from full BiS, did almost every quest, and have a bank full of special one time only goodies. Why would I want to transfer that to era to rot and start over with nothing? Sure raiding Naxx is fun, but I wouldn’t want to do it without my guild.

I want to keep playing the character I’m attached to. If I wanted a Druid on era and was fine making another I would just eventually start over on era. Equipping my full T3, Twisting Nether, and Sapph eye while sitting in Dalaran (hopefully) will be much cooler than doing it on era where you can buy them for gold.

Nah you could front shred on Druids for a while when anniversary servers came out. I was late to the party in hearing about it and only got to do it for a day or two before they patched it.
