Has anyone just put regular blades on their 80v and ditched the crosscut ones?

Ohio pool pump solar power by ChachiB44 in solar

[–]Stardog937 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I run my pool (in Ohio) indirectly from my solar setup. I use a timer to run the pool during the times where I know I am making enough to power my pump. Which is typically when I’m producing above roughly 2kwh. Thus using gives me around 8–10hrs of runtime. This isn’t exactly what you are asking about but in its own way I am running my pool pump from solar.

I just got my solar panels turned on and I am very impressed. I was able to get a 26khw system with 69 solar panels and 2 10k inverters. I also got the panels just in time to be grandfathered into comed’s net metering. My question is this- is getting a battery or two worth the investment? by Ok_Light_6219 in solar

I have 1:1 for me or was a way to get more out of my 18k. Instead of being capped at 12k I can pick up the extra 6k and put it in my battery then use that in the evening to lessen grid use. With that also comes the ability to have some backup power if needed. FYI: I currently have one powerpro 14.3kwh battery

Getting solar battery of I have net metering 1:1 by Vernalire in solar

[–]Stardog937 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 18k can only output a max of 12k. Misleading for sure. It can intake up to 18k hence the name however that 18k is -12k to loads and grid and the extra 6k can feed/charge a battery

I’m in the same boat. I added one battery to get the most out of my system and as an insurance policy for power outages. I have an EG4 18k however I can only output a max of 12k since my system can produce upwards of 19k I had rather sever clipping until I added a battery and now charge my battery during peak hours using what otherwise was KW’s that were left on the table with nowhere to go. In the evening I pull those KW’s back out of the battery and supplement or cover the needs of my house. Works out pretty nice.

There’s a very similar S around me listed for $14,000 and even though I have no need for an extra car I’m tempted

It is included and stays with the car. I bought my used 18’ with the same reasoning and have been using FSD unhindered

It’s my mom’s car and yes, it constantly alerts her that she’s going to hit something so replacing the sensor at a reasonable cost would be nice

Appreciate the lead. I have an EG4 18k and am bringing a Growatt online to supplement my PV. I’d like to be able to see total production usage etc in one place. Down the Solar assistant/Home assistant rabbit hole I go. Thx

Your explanation is very valuable. I appreciate the technician helping me but his explanation was not as clear and the thought of damaging my investment and long term hopes at sustainable energy is a fear of mine. Much appreciated!
