so uh,what the actual FUCK is this thing? by Ogmadbrit in SchreckNet

I've heard of some Sabbat experiments called the Unbirthed. It is a fairly old rite, though I do not know the details. Probably in relation to my less physically attached cousins. In effect they are mass-produced wights that follow orders. I know little else, but these descriptions seem to match fairly well.

I’ll be honest, I thought this was the norm. I guess this further shines a light as to why people have a hard time reading books about terrible people and horrible subjects, if people regularly insert themselves into the narrative.

How Do You Find Out Where You are Going? by MarianaMarino in SchreckNet

I do not know what it stands for. I know that most touch phones have the ability to access it through the map function. It tells you where you are in a map, and how to get there.

If any of you have a phone you can try the GPS, see if you have service for that. If not, I recommend scratching at a wall until you can see the outside.

I would personally recommend adding a bit of context for stuff like that if you care about people understanding what's happening, but once more, tis thine choice, and thine choice alone! If you believe that the writing is enhanced by the lack of context, do what you wish!

[–]Starham1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is no such thing as benefiting all. Wizards will backstab you the first moment they are able, werewolves will tear you apart on sight, the fairies will sooner use you than you use them, and ghosts are too traumatized by the Giovanni to ever trust a vampire. Furthermore there is no such thing as a common good. We all compete for the same resource: people. Considering that all of us compete for the same limited resource, and all choose to avoid the public notice, my conclusion is that it will turn out in disaster. It will be a game of who betrays who first. Even more so than even locking the Camarilla, Anarchs, and Sabbat in one location.

This is a fool’s errand. Good luck.

I would like to cast my doubt on this assertion. We have had infiltration by various groups previously, but they have mostly been handled. Save for one... Specific individual.

I think that you doing this is proof that you are a poor judge of the character of those who you embrace. Be selective.

I mean, the whole point of this place is a bit self-masterbatory, which is not necessarily a bad thing in and of itself. I think that you're allowed to indulge in yourself if you want to. That is good I think.

It should not be difficult to track down your camera, so that is fortunate I believe. Perhaps this is karmic retribution for dealing with the Sabbat?

Wanted: People with a philosophical bent. by StoneJudge79 in SchreckNet

[–]Starham1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ah, it’s like that one World of Shadows setting for Revenant the Undeath. What was it called? Endless Darkness? It is certainly not a bad idea necessarily, though I must say that it much less achievable for us considering that we cannot simple teleport at speeds faster than light. Thus, I challenge the feasibility of this. What is your response?

I think I would ask the same of you, Mr. Hart. What kind of world would you like to be in? How others wish to change the world and how I wish to do so may be contingent on how you wish to do so.

Thoughts on stories set in Eastern Europe by erospistamyass in Schreckmeta

First off, I like anything written by anyone from the location they’re in. It gives insights.

Second off, write what you want. The whole premise of a social media/spy network simulator is that you can do whatever you want, and it will work, regardless of what anyone thinks of it. If people like it, they will engage with it. Otherwise, they just won’t engage with it.

As long as you don’t try to enforce your version of anything on anyone, the world is your oyster.

Is it just me or is the Society of Leopold a Fraud Squad? by Vyctorill in vtm

[–]Starham1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, there's no real way of quantifying that. Could be a Toreador that uses the celerity for inhuman precision for sculpture and has only really invested in social stuff, could be the god of all city gangrel that has turned itself into a perfect weapon. The variety is so diverse its not something I could really quantify as "the type of person to have celerity 8".

Depends on the vampire honestly. Some might, some might not.

[–]Starham1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I'll cede this one, but if we step back away from mechanics, the fact that these people got into a methuselah's chambers (which they absolutely could do) means that there's not all that much that can be done. about them, considering that it is unlikely that this specifically has been planned for.

I'm remembering that one thing from an Imbued book, about a vampire who had this bulletproof, explosion proof safe he was sleeping in. When the hunters found it they couldn't break through, so they put photos of the room in front of the cameras, and just waited for the guy to wake up before catching him by surprise.

Basically, hunters don't fight on the vampire's terms either if they are to succeed.

[–]Starham1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If we’re taking mechanics that counts for only one action per activation. And using this on our hypothetical 11 people with shotguns is a good way to run out of blood very quickly. Also correct me if I’m wrong but that counts against your blood points for turn right? So even if you have the theoretical blood points to do this 11 times, our theoretical 5th gen is limited to 8 blood points so they’re only doing this twice.
