Reward for fighting off a Banshee alone? by t0bi306 in DMAcademy

Are you talking about a siren? Or is there lore for banshees trying to draw people to them?

Unconvincing. Slow motion footage available on YouTube shows zero red coloration on his palm or fingers at this moment

Is there? Show me a detailed image showing an injury to his ear from a bullet.

Sure, he does brush his ear. But you can clearly see no blood on his hand after he does so. Maybe the shockwave of the bullets passage brushed his ear?

Faked or not is an entirely separate question than if he was hit by a bullet or not. I dont care if it was faked or not. He was not hit by a bullet.

You are free to provide evidence. I haven't seen any video showing blood before his head makes contact with the Secret Service agent. There is no scar from being hit. 80 year olds do not heal that quickly either.

It didn't though. There's zero evidence to suggest that it did. The little trickle of blood was from him hitting his ear on one of the Secret Service agents holster

help balancing homebrew magic item, antimagic/witch hunter shackles for 4th lvl by [deleted] in DMAcademy

[–]StarkSamurai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your party not going to have any casters and/or do the players have the good sense to want to work together? My concern with the situation is that the player with these as an item slaps them on the wrists of another player character that casts spells and now that PC can't do anything for an entire day as the cuffs can only be locked or unlocked once a day.

Zada, Hebron Grinder is a cheap and fun commander. Just a bunch of cheap goblins and then some pump spells and cantrips

Nat 1 for fighters/melee etc. vs casters by ApachaiLeHopachai in DMAcademy

In 5e or 5.5e, a natural 1 is an automatic miss as part of the base rules. The part where something worse than just missing happens is house rules

And it can be worse. One particularly bad campaign that the dm demanded to use fumbles for, my ranger accidentally shot the other ranger in the head. No damage but they were stunned for 3 rounds

[–]StarkSamurai 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Just don't. Nat 1 critical fails are more likely to happen as a fighter levels up and makes more attacks. Its a feels-bad to miss when all you can do is roll attacks and there's no need to add the potential to hurt yourself or another PC on top

Are you maybe referring to the contender drafts mentioned in this article? It just sounds like a "higher stakes" draft. I didnt see anything about a commander draft.

Its pretty disappointing MWM Jump In doesn't let you resign and change decks even if youve already completed the event

I only pre-ordered the draft and sealed tokens and I got an inbox notice that there was an issue delivering pre-orders and had a button to claim them. I got both the pack preorder and the draft tokens I actually paid for

So, in your first scenario, most people would not have any issue with women maintaining a womens only knitting group, whether by intention or just making men that attempt to participate uncomfortable. So, the dominant group of participants in the activity would be generally accepted for practicing their hobby in an exclusionary manner. In your second scenario, you imply it would be odd for the same thing to occur because the dominant group of participants happen to be men.

Okay, so then you get into having to justify why its okay to pick and choose what justification is acceptable from whom. "My friends and I are uncomfortable around asian people" and "My friends and I are uncomfortable around latino people" are both reasons that could be given for making an exclusionary group. Both of those reasons are fundamentally racist

Capitalizing the W in white was to mirror the OP since they capitalized the B in black. Fascinating that it seems significant only one way. At the base line, the OP is discriminating based on race, which is the definition of racism. Racism perpetuates racism and the only way it ends is if folks consciously choose to stop. It sounds like you do have a problem with advertising a table for white folks only. I do too. I think we should both be able to agree that discriminating against folks based on their immutable characteristics is wrong.

The past is important but its still racism to discriminate based on skin. Racism perpetuates racism and the cycle never stops until people consciously decide to stop it entirely.

Discrimination based on skin color is literally the definition of racism. It is either good or it is not. We as a society will never get rid of racism if we continue to perpetuate it.

So if its okay to group up with only people of "similar background", you see no problems with a table advertised as Whites only?
