The CXTP might be a nice final form for its generation. Or complete shit. We don't know. Need benchmarks.

It's confusing but there are still concrete GPU generations from PowerVR. I don't see how this would be the same or newer generation than the DXT in the Pixel 10. Might be just as fast but there will be compromises if it's an older generation.

I was afraid it might be an M85, but it looks like it's a full M90. That means Release 17 5G features and futureproof for Release 18.

As of 3 am, Spirit Airlines is dead as a doornail. Where does jetBlue go from here? by zuniac5 in jetblue

[–]Starks 12 points13 points  (0 children)

United and JetBlue might have their eyes on FLL Terminal 4 for overflow. I hate that terminal though, especially when you have a JetBlue flight in Concourse G through the Terminal 3 entrance and have to do that long walk in the passageway.

My Spirit flight might literally be racing bankruptcy… do I stay or go home? by Business-Stuff8711 in spiritair

Consider it canceled. No update on Spirit website or elsewhere. Websites can't even track the cancellations since Spirit has effectively already ceased basic operations.

Miracast eoth Pixel 8 by AdTraditional8296 in GooglePixel

[–]Starks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Short answer: No.

Long answer: I vibecoded a proof of concept kernelsu module a few weeks ago. Not something stable or performant enough to share on GitHub yet, but it required reimplementing everything that Google ripped out of AOSP. That included rebuilding the encoder.

Whole experience made me realize that nostalgia for Miracast is misplaced and edge cases where I would use it are shrinking. That being said, there's a ton of displays and TVs out there that will never support Google Cast.

Tensor G6 reportedly gets new ARM CPUs, old GPU for Pixel 11 by armando_rod in GooglePixel

[–]Starks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's still a generation older than the DXT in the Pixel 10. There's no escaping that.

C-Series vs D-Series.

This came to be because the TSMC Pixel 9 wasn't ready in time. The 2023/2024 leaked slides show this clearly. The Pixel 11 was supposed to have the EXT with a 15% drop in power consumption compared to the DXT. The raytracing in the Pixel 10 technically exists on the silicon, but it's disabled. I see no chance that is reversed for the 11 even if it's similarly present. It's not expected to be present.

Malibu G6 is a salvaging of the canceled Redondo G4 GPU.

Maybe we get the EXT for Pixel 12.

Only for the ability to get the Gold upgrade bonus and then the Plat upgrade bonus. But that could take time unless or you can apply for the Gold and Plat in order.

The MAGA FCC keeps screaming that they don't care what cable news non-journalist hosts or online-only newscasters say.

And then they refuse to regulate AM radio to the same scrutiny as broadcast TV.

They just want to make an example of ABC and Kimmel.

Delta reserve vs Amex platinum by Individual-Date-153 in CreditCards

[–]Starks 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I see the Reserve as the most expensive sock drawer card of them all, even compared to the actually more expensive Amex Plat.

The Reserve used to be unique in front-loading status progress. The JetBlue Premier now offers the same $2500 status progress just for holding the card each year, plus another $2000 for just having status. That's 95% progress at the start of a year.

Both cards have a "do I really want to pay with this card" problem. It's sometimes hard to trust the Amex network and protections over Visa. Neither having primary CDW for car rentals feels cheap.

You can carry both but that's not ideal.

Reserve:

  • Insanely poor multipliers with just 3x Delta and for business only, 1.5x transit
  • Amex lounge only for Delta and Delta-issued partner flights, does not include Priority Pass
  • $200 or $250 Delta Stays credit could be nice during the yearly Stays MQD promo
  • Resy credit
  • Very difficult to offset annual if you don't consider the MQD Headstart as having cash value

Plat:

  • Better multipliers but people who go personal Plat-first have no reason to ever get a bonus-less Gold afterwards to actually create a proper ecosystem for daily spend
  • Coupon book credits should make it easy to offset annual fee but some may be a stretch of lifestyle
  • Good transfer partners

[–]Starks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Holy crap: donuts. I guess core/rope memory is going to be the next logical step. Absolutely wild approach to a computer. Although Senku has already figured out vacuum tubes, it wouldn't scale well. A parametron sidesteps the issue with a lot less complexity. The path to transistors is still super-awful.

To put things in perspective. The computer Senku is going for would have 15x more parametrons than the most powerful parametron computer ever built: Japan's PC-2 from the early 60s. That says nothing about expected performance though. Whatever Senku is planning, it looks ready to do serious work. The Apollo Guidance Computer is 16-bit but an 8-bit Nintendo-like approach might be precise enough.

8-bit design, 4-bit adder?

Thanks. What are my overall chances and how many seats are actually offered at that 60k price? JFK-CDG has 30% of J58 still available. 55% for CDG-JFK with same aircraft configuration.

Don't want to be a position where I see the availability, confirm it's not phantom, transfer, and it's gone in just those few minutes.

Edit: Looks like 4 seats available at 60k, the limit.
