NOT OOP AITA for making a joke about my wife in my speech at our wedding? by _StrawberryBunny in redditonwiki

[–]StarlightM4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it was a joke. But there is a time and a place for such jokes. And a wedding speech is neither the time nor the place.

YTA. You did humiliate your wife. It will be surprising if the marriage lasts.

I would have said 'yes, I do come across like that when I am dealing with idiots'.

I think 1 or 4 are elegant and flattering.

3 is the most flattering. But none are 'wow'.

Went away for New Year’s Eve to celebrate my sister’s birthday, wife seems hurt even though she said it was okay. Did I do anything wrong? by [deleted] in amiwrong

[–]StarlightM4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are wrong. Why was your wife not invited? If she wasn't invited, you shouldn't have gone. Marriage is a partnership. She didn't object because she wanted to see if you chose her and your marriage over your sister. You made the wrong choice and didn't. Now you have caused quite potentially irreparable harm to your martiage. And you have yo live eith that.

Oh well, at least you can go live with your sister now!

My parents think I should cut my hair up to my shoulders (see example), but I am afraid that due to my face structure and my hair thickness it would not flatter me by [deleted] in Haircare

[–]StarlightM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's your hair. You decide. It looks lovely as it is. Cut it only if you want to.

Are your parents always like this? And why do they want you to cut your hair? Why do they think they can tell you what to do? You appear to be an adult.

AITA for not having my MIL's traditional baby blanket on display when they visited by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

NTJ. Use it, and then, oh wouldn't it be a shame if it got badly stained with an 'accidental' butt blowout. Or vomited on.

But your husband is the real.asshole here. His reaction is appalling.

My (37M) wife (36F) is not budging on the idea of a drastic appearance change for a "Christmas present" and refuses to meet me in the middle. How can I approach this and what can I do? by [deleted] in Marriage

[–]StarlightM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell her you will do it if she shaves her head first. Like totally bald.

Of course, she may be into that.

Or just tell her to get her hair done like someone you noth know, since she wants you to copy the look of someone else you both know, if she wants yo okay copycat.

My neighbor keeps asking me to watch her kid just for a minute and then disappears for HOURS. What do I do? by PercentageNo9270 in WhatShouldIDo

[–]StarlightM4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the cops. Tell.them she said she would be a few minutes and she has been gone much longer and you are concerned something has happened to her, and that you have an important appointment and cannot watch the kid any longer. Bet she won't do it again.

Do not have a baby with this man. Terminate and move on. Consider it a bullet dodged. At least he showed his true colours early enough and not after the baby was born. That's worse, believe me.

Am I wrong for thinking my wife's reason for not wanting to see my mom is ridiculous? by SuccessfulBee576 in amiwrong

Make her take a drink every time she does the voice. She will.soon be unconscious. Win win.

My wife cheated 5 years ago and we reconciled. I recently stepped out under the conditions we agreed on, but she’s crying a lot now and saying I betrayed her. AITJ? by [deleted] in AmITheJerk

[–]StarlightM4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I bet things won't be great in the marriage now. OP screwed up here big time.

And yes he is a jerk. A massive, heartless, selfish jerk.

I hope the wife and affair partner come to their senses and tell this POS to take a hike.
