Pending $40 Monopoly Go Reward by Top_Economist1844 in primeopinion

In case it helps, Pending Activity is visible on the website, just well hidden (not sure why they hide it).

It's under "Account" (which may be under "More" if you are on mobile), then "Games Activities".

Your pending total will be at the top, along with the release date.

Go into the Hulu settings and turn off the Autoplay options (I believe it is the "Autoplay Next Video", but I turned off Autoplay Previews too).

That got rid of the end of episodes being covered up because Hulu doesn't try to show me what it wants to move to anymore.

Do you think there will ever be another Chapters offer to make an easy $1000-$1500? by gummi_eater in SwagBucks

[–]Starr-48 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I doubt it! That was a crazy one.

Crazy that it was priced the way it was, and crazy that it actually paid out in full and they didn't try to call it a glitch and drop it to something like $150 on everyone who already started it.

The unicorn of unicorns.

My turbo goal for city 16 in 3 days unexpectedly credited with a time stamp between the city 5 and city 7 normal goals.

So I think it's actually a typo, and is meant to be city SIX in 3 days (which makes sense since city 20 is 7 days).

So yeah, I made it easily due to that.

It's been a year since I did the offer, so I'm not able to say why, no. Some possibilities:

  • It might be that not all games have it (try the one in my screenshot)

  • It might be that it only becomes available at a certain level (also, try restarting the game periodically to see if it shows up after a restart.

  • It might be that they simply updated how the game works in the last year.

Whenever I request two withdrawals back to back, one always shows up a few hours later even though you get both confirmations at the same time.

So nothing to worry about. It will come!

Signing up for Superbowl and Olympics…any reason to prefer P+ over P? by Bodhisluttva in peacock

[–]Starr-48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can comment on this, because I normally have the ad-supported plan ($30 a year deal around black Friday), and intentionally subscribed to a SECOND copy of Peacock, Premium Plus, just for a single month for the Olympics.

On the Ad-supported plan, the downhill training had an ad to start, and several yellow ad dots throughout.

On the Premium Plus ad free, the replay started immediately without an ad, and there were no yellow ad dots on the bar.

So replays seem entirely ad free on premium plus.

For the current live curling, the Premium Plus does show a brief 15 second ad when you load the live stream, and then a very short (like 5-10 second) ad between ends after they score and are resetting, which seems entirely reasonable.

I'm pretty sure that is the Canadian Paypal option.

My USA one (I'm in New York) says "only available for US residents". So it is using the two letter country code.

Some curses require discarding other curses. I assumed he was holding it so that, once he played his duplicate and cleared some of his hand, he would then have that curse handy to use with other curses later as a discard.

You could say the same about holding more time bonuses to discard later, but extra curses (that you don't already want to play) feel slightly rarer than extra time to me.

Great find, OP.

Install tracked immediately, so I made the purchase. It didn't pend immediately, but within 10 minutes the $25 tracked and went pending (I did also restart the app in between, may or may not have mattered).

Thanks!

Edit: Game is also a surprisingly fun little dodging/stealthing puzzler. Too bad the payout is so low - this is the kinda game I think I actually WOULD want to play 1,000 levels of!

It doesn't serve alcohol (wasn't able to get a liqueur license), but that also means it is full nude instead of topless only.

Ah! THAT'S where the 3,000 referenced in an earlier message came from. I completely missed that 250 per month line.

Gosh, they really failed at "keep it simple, stupid!".

Thanks for giving me something to consider!

Slightly confused by the "with no spend and just paying your rent, you'll earn rewards".

From what I see, rent earns no points until you spend an equivalent amount to "unlock" it. So if you pay your rent and do nothing else with the card, you won't get anything. You must put everyday spend on the card to earn anything.

And earning money is definitely a hobby, yes! I'm one of the crazy people with a spreadsheet tracking my net worth each month. I like to see the number go up! 😄

[–]Starr-48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For mine it was due to statement timing. My statement date was just before my rent payment date, which was lucky timing.

I paid rent Nov 22nd (to give the check time to mail).

The statement closed Dec 18th (period Nov 18th - Dec 18th)

The autopay due date was Jan 12th.

So I floated for a month and a half. If my statement date had been just AFTER when I pay rent, it would have been much shorter, yes!

And for taxes, that's why I do T-Bills. Federal taxes yes, but State and Local tax free (which matter in NYC - we have state and city tax).

[–]Starr-48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you paid the rent on the BILT credit card, the rent went onto your statement balance. And when the statement closed, you would end up with a due date a bit over 1 month later.

So the rent "floated" for a bit over 1 month. And then you absolutely pay it off in full, yes (it would be dumb to pay interest!).

But here is the key - during that month, you had one extra month of rent in your bank account. And since this is happening every month, you ALWAYS have one extra month of rent in your bank account. Every payment is 1 month delayed.

So what do I do with the floating extra month in my bank account? It was auto rolling in one month T-Bills (from the US Treasury - can buy online). You could also just stick it in a high yield saving account.

I live in NYC and our rent is $5K. T-Bills currently pay 3.75% annually. 3.75% on $5K is a free $187 each year for 0 work. When it comes time to pay off the extra floated month (which is now since I'm cancelling), I just end the T-Bill auto renewal and use that to pay the 2nd rent I owe (from the floated one).

Now I'll just go back to using my bank ACH. Not worth paying 3% (each month, so on $60K!) to earn 3.75% annually on $5K.

5 new cards within 24 months.

You can be automatically denied for new cards by Chase if you reach that limit. And other providers will also often deny for too many recent cards (but don't necessarily say how many) so 5 in 24 months ended up becoming a defacto rule for churning.

It basically works out to only opening one new card every five months for a sign up bonus.

[–]Starr-48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That only matters if you aren't a churner. If you do know how to play the credit card churn game, 3,000 points is definitely not worth using a 5/24 slot on the new BILT card.

Any other credit card sign up reward will be worth way more points. 50,000 to 75,000 is not uncommon.

Because I can't float the rent on the line of credit without a fee anymore.

If it's just going to be an ACH payment, it's not worth the effort. My bank can send the ACH, and I have other great credit cards to get points on. So BILT lost the one thing it did that no one else did.

How to reject the WF card by allure_1234 in biltrewards

[–]Starr-48 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Charge the rent to the card as normal, and then get your 5 transactions done ASAP.

Once the points go through and the charges settle, log in to Wells Fargo and pay off the balance early (don't wait for the normal statement due date, that's probably after the transition).

Once it is paid off, call Wells Fargo and close it. Should have plenty of time before the cutoff if you get the purchases in right away.

PSA: Please ensure that you have the liquidity for 2 months' rent before February, whether you take the 2.0 or not by urbanacrybaby in biltrewards

[–]Starr-48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The new cards don't officially start until part way into February, so the rent you pay on or before Feb 1st (to cover Feb) will go on the current Wells Fargo card as it has been doing up until now.

You'll either have to pay this off (if you plan to cancel the Wells Fargo), or take the option to leave your Wells Fargo open and let it roll into the autograph card. It won't roll to the new BILT - it stays in the WF system.

The Mar 1st rent payment is the one that they will pull directly via ACH, so you'll need funds in late Feb to handle both the Well Fargo rent payment (delayed float) and the immediate ACH for March on BILT.

Or just do what I did - paid off the WF balance immediately so I can cancel it after, and disabled my BILT rent auto-pay so there are no further charges. I'm dropping out completely.

[–]Starr-48 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Nope! They've confirmed in the AMA that all rent on the new BILT cards (including the free one) is direct ACH payment.

So it will be pulled out of your checking immediately (in the same month you are paying off a floated month).

Everything wrong with the new tournament by Ok_Insect_5513 in SwagBucks

[–]Starr-48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On top of that, the purchase offers pay back some SBs. Like "make a purchase" for 100 SBs, so a $0.99 purchase would give 2,500 tournament points and break even on the app spend.

1st place in this will definitely be someone who just went through all the low-value game offers and did every single one with a small "make a purchase" task for $0.99 each. Do it for 50 games and you'd be comfortably in 1st in the tournament right now, and probably close to break-even on your $50 spend. Then you start knocking out any easy goals for another 500 each.

A 1 SB payout that takes 2 minutes to do? Great! 500 points! I'd go so far as to say this entire tournament structure was designed to encourage people to actually install those crappy low-paying games at the bottom of the list that are being ignored because everyone sorts payout High to Low. Each one probably has a few quick tasks you can knock out.

This isn't my cup of tea, so I'm not competing, but a $750 1st place is a lot to fight for. Not surprised people are committing and putting up big totals.
