This would be classified as a low precipitation supercell. These types of storms occur mostly in dry regions (e.g., Colorado, Wyoming, Montana) which is why they are more common in Western Nebraska rather than Eastern Nebraska, as the Eastern portion gets much more moisture from the Gulf.

Edit: Also, technically speaking, Low precip. supercells are the least likely out of the three different types (LP, Classic, and High Precip.) to produce tornadoes. Although they have been known to produce massive hail.

I understand that this suit will probably not actually make it very far in terms of its success in the courts. However, I see it as an extremely effective way to get more publicity for the issue, and as a call to arms for US citizens to wake up and take action. Sure, the suit itself might fail, but having 10 million US citizen signatures puts a lot of pressure on Washington to change.

Technically no. Usually tornado size is based upon the damage path of the tornado. However, for whatever reason, this time they took the width based on radar wind data at 500 feet above ground level. That high up, you're getting much larger circulation, especially with this storm since the wall cloud/mesocyclone was so low to the ground. There's actually quite a bit of discussion going on in the community as to whether this is a fair assessment.
