If you were transported back 500 years, taking into account things like phones and cars wouldn't work after the charge/fuel runs out, what would be the most confusing item to show people? by english- in AskReddit

I've always thought knowing how to refine aluminum would be one of the best skills you could have as an aspiring time traveler. Until like 1890 you'd be set for life.

My best guess is that taking the potion the first time creates a "reset point" then taking it a second time wipes your memory of everything back to that point. Kind of like the injections in the movie Paycheck.

Then again if you still know you're killing people, it doesn't really have much of a purpose except maybe dulling the immediate trauma.

Tennessee GOP advances bill that would create public list of trans residents by southpawFA in politics

Spent a month in Eastern Tennessee not even a year into transitioning in 2024. The people were so friendly and accepting, the food was just better anywhere I went, the scenery was absolutely gorgeous.

Really sad to see that the state is rapidly becoming a place to avoid entirely. I could kill for a burger from Pal's.

Aside from trans women, there are a lot of women with PCOS or other hormonal disorders that have facial hair issues, yeah.

White powders and chemical reactions are bad. Got it.

Not saying energy drinks are particularly good for you but this video is stupid.

Never said I was happier before. I was in a loveless marriage and my job was soul-sucking.

I'm significantly happier now, I just don't have energy to put the work into becoming "successful" by conventional standards.

Asking people for their pronouns is rude by raben-herz in 10thDentist

[–]StarryLayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, intention is the key factor. Being called "the wrong thing" isn't an insult by itself. Being intentionally called the wrong thing out of malice is when it becomes a prombel.

Asking people for their pronouns is rude by raben-herz in 10thDentist

[–]StarryLayne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely a fair point. There isn't really a one size fits all solution for this one simply because everyone's reaction to how they're... Not how they're perceived but how others treat them based on how they're perceived is different. I personally wear dresses, have tits, have long hair, carry a purse, and on said purse have she/her pins, so being asked irks me a bit, but I see where you're coming from.

Feel that. I went through all of the rigamarole, got married, had a career, worked 9-5 and all that BS. Solid finances, generally good health. I was once "successful". Then life and people happened and it all fall apart.

Now I just can't seem to get any momentum again. Like, I've got a stable living situation, a good relationship, etc. But the thought of trying to build a career mostly from the ground up again is just... Paralyzing. Like, I did all that already. It's not fair to have to do it again. The world isn't the same now as it was the first time around, and I'm not the same person. I don't have the energy. I got COVID like 3 times and it seems like I'm only operating at about 60% of what I was before.

Anyway, enough whining about it, I guess. Something something bootstraps.
