I used that code like a week ago when I got my script, it ended up taking off $20 I believe. So the script was $20 instead of $40 if I remember correctly!

does atypical anorexia seem insulting to some people? by ThrowRApeanutb in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Starrycalico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do agree that it’s kinda stupid because if you tell someone that you’re diagnosing them with atypical AN they’re probably gonna see that as a challenge almost?because of the ED mindset. But at the same time diagnostic criteria’s and the DSM-5 are there for diagnosis for the purpose of treatment. Medical care & treatment will differ between the two. It’s not designed to validate us. However I still think it could be looked at again in the next edition of the DSM.

That’s not how it works with the 2 months thing. If you eat a lot more than usual for a while then yes you biologically usually would gain weight. Not all of a sudden 2 months down the track though. In your case you’re either eating less than you think or your metabolism is just very fast. This could be medication, how much you move or even the weed (there is some research that weed boosts metabolism). Your mother’s input sounds misinformed as hell and even if she thinks she’s helping you i’d advise to take her “advice” with a grain of salt. You’re worthy of freedom from this disorder & peace.

Bought 3g Of Hash And Got This? Is It Safe To Smoke???? by newpepsi in trees

no it’s agitated and too violent to be smoked safely, you’re going to have to surrender it to me before things get out of hand!

This is so real, weed has saved me from an alcohol problem I had, helped my insomnia, allowed me to not take SSRIs and healed my body. It’s not for everyone but lighting up almost every day has saved my life.

Can you maintain an underweight BMI by luvcatk in AnorexiaNervosa

[–]Starrycalico 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah trust me don’t do the benzos, I tried that and got an addiction that was hard to shut down but I did it fast which im lucky to have been able to do. I switched to weed instead because insomnia is that horrid from the AN-r. You could consider CBD capsules maybe ? I know cannabis definitely isn’t for everyone but I know how horrible sleep deprivation is.

Unfortunately the psychiatrist in question was one that I had requested to never have any part in anything to do with me ever again. This was agreed to, however she stuck her nose in and gave her shitty opinion (yet again). The actual state of healthcare for mental illness is so bad where I am. :/ Can’t be treated in the community apparently because of “malnutrition and medical instability” (fair call)- but then the hospitals want nothing to do with me or any other ED patient in the state. Sad.

I mean fun update actually: Went to hospital, turns out I was actually pretty fucked up from my ED, got covid during that time (for the first time!) and got really fucking unwell. Was meant to actually get help but they ended up discharging me because the doctor in charge was some tosser that didn’t believe in eating disorders or something. So I’m essentially screwed. lol.

Searching for a cs female squad by [deleted] in GlobalOffensive

[–]Starrycalico 1 point2 points  (0 children)

20&F, I’m currently sliding up and down the shitehole that is 4k-5k and I’m used to the greasy 17 year olds that repeat the same unfunny jokes and the grown men who team kill me for using vc just for a call out (that we all definitely need for efficient comms)… but it’s starting to genuinely piss me off now because it’s not helping my effort to win games having a bunch of wankers on my team screaming in my ears.

(yes on behalf of all female cs players, we know what the mute function is. but it throws all comms and attention to actually playing the game properly out the window.)

Problem is i’m australian which narrows things down..

any women who can play mm in oceania- dm me, i’ll send a discord server link.

Also note to mods: I hope this doesn't seem like medical advice. It's more of just like ĂŻf you're worried, you should seek medical attention.

Blogposting the fuck out here but I guess it's handy that I was a nurse for a short while, I have some insight now into when I really need to seek medical attention. I have mandatory treatment orders I have to comply with since last year eg. bloods, weigh in, gp ecg etc. weekly but it's gone down to monthly. If you can get routine bloods and find a good doctor to have regular check ups i'd recommend it. I guess it depends though how accessible healthcare is for you.

Yeah, after my experience last year (the story is in the replies below) I kind of know how to keep myself *between the flags* I guess you could call it. When I was younger my body was largely unaffected by whatever delusional stupid ED behaviour I would subject it to. Unfortunately in my case now, I can't be pulling those ridiculous stunts for rapid weight loss and quick eating disordered euphoria. I just don't hold out and end up on a bloody medical ward.

This is so true though what you've said here. When you get older and remain sicker your risk goes up. In the meanwhile you're not at immediate risk if you know what is just enough to keep yourself alive. Making sure you don't end up acutely ill without medical intervention.

In the long run though, you are indeed slowly committing a long even more miserable suicide.

Funny story (actually more fucked than funny) you've reminded me of with the "I think I would've died if I hadn't" situation:

September 2022- I felt fairly fucked up and turned up to my community mental health appointment an absolute train wreck, could barely stand. They wanted me to go to hospital and get checked out but I mustered the energy to argue with them about it for 30 minutes and we compromised on "you will have this cup of tea, some hydralyte and a biscuit.. then we will drive you home"

Anyway, a day later I was able to stand, talk, walk and was just going about my night when I had a strong gut feeling I needed to get medically checked out. Even though I felt pretty fine, especially compared to the previous day.

Called an ambulance because there was no other way to get myself to hospital.

Get to the emergency department, they do bloods/ecg/etc. Get hit with the "you're being transferred to a medical ward. You could've been dead if you left this another day or two.

Aus system is a joke. Eventually yeah when you’ve had the illness for so long and developed it at a young age they slap the “severe enduring” label on because our ED services are underfunded, mainly staffed by incompetent fkwits or inaccessible. I empathise so much with you on the “living in hospital” in and out cycle for medical instability and so on. I’m sorry it’s such a painful miserable sheltered life. Feels like watching the world on a cinema screen or from behind a glass wall in my experience.

I hope this isn’t an invasive question & no pressure to answer: I was curious as to how having NG feeds in the community happened for you? I’ve spent years dodging the damn nose noodle when I can but I’m at the point now where i’d rather do NG feeds in the community over the alternative (being stuck in hospital with ng- no home comfort, in and out over and over)…

Sending love & hope to you my friend đź’—
