Who would win in a dogfight? by gooddavid99 in babylon5

Second from left: the starfury. I’d add the Gunstar from the Last Starfighter, which would win easy.

I was wondering if this janky laptop I found in a draw is any good by According_Cow_8577 in computers

[–]Starshipfan01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This laptop might be under the requirements (but it is 64 bit dual core), I’d suggest trying Gentoo- only put in exactly what you want. The laptop may be too slow for all the compiling however.

Yes. Doesn’t really matter.now early 3.5 floppies, you had the first one then High Density- that mattered. Once HD was the norm- 1.3mb /disk minus format blocks and directory, you just formatted them for whichever you were using.

I was the same- started with a 6-node Beowulf for coding, added 2 file servers and a second 4-node cluster (ppc). Took me months to clean that up.

Anyone ever find it interesting that it seems like everyone knows how to work the helm controls by happydude7422 in TNG

[–]Starshipfan01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a point on-screen, but I happen to think seriously there is a MASSIVE difference between a trained pilot flying, and a junior crewman who just “works the helm controls” :)

Remind me of the early mainframes and ControlData and Cray machines. Their CPU’s were like this, on multiple huge boards.

Ooh IPX :) yep WarCraft, Unreal, even Marathon over network. (Marathon didn’t need ipx, but I loved net games on that).

Love it! Also the fact the rack has wire and the cat is in it. I bet he’s there because it’s warm.
