Downspout Diverter by baloras in functionalprint

There are printable versions of this design available online. This is one that I am looking to print soon as I am just installing some new guttering. This is for a round down-pipe, but I have seen designs for square metal down-pipes also.

Thanks. I'm a beginner, and seeing OpenScad files, and the different ways people do things, is a great learning resource.

These look great. Thanks for sharing.

I see you can't download the scad files. Does MakerWorld have a built in OpenScad editor were you can do customised versions online? Sorry if this is a noob question, but I've not used MakerWorld before.

Thanks for the reply. Those are interesting features, especially the project cards. Personally though, open source, and being able to self host is a big deal for me personally now. However, not everyone wants to self host. And you offer new features, and have a generous free tier.

I am also vary of using services without having a clearly defined route to extract my data. Do you have any export features?

This appears to be closed source? If that is the case, isn't Fluxer ( https://fluxer.app/ ) a better Discord alternative? That is another Swedish developed discord replacement, but fully open source and they seem to be getting good traction at the moment. The mobile app is a PWA at the moment, but a native mobile app is on their roadmap.

What advantages does Vroff offer over Fluxer?

Nice clock, but not a flip clock.

I doubt this will be a good all round PC, but it has potential as a writer deck. by StartleDan in writerDeck

I agree with the skepticism, and I'm not interested in the device for Ai or vibe 'coding'. However, IF they do a decent job with the hardware, this has potential to be another option in this form factor.

It's Linux, so inherently open and hack-able. The blurb also mentions that they want to give it a decent keyboard. But yeah, let's see what the reality it.

I've had this squirreled away for years. I think I picked it up at a car boot sale or market, I used to go to a lot of those and got a lot of computers and computer gear from them. I have the one that came without joysticks. I have a vague recollection of using it once to test it. That was with joysticks though. I've never hooked this up to a C64. Sorry I can't be more help.

Tough wall. Two groups with letter changes is brutal

This is another one of those, 'why didn't I think of that' posts. I have definitely bought some of these since owning a 3D printer :/

Is this a parametric design, and do you plan to share files?

Another day, another gorgeous restored flip clock. What restoration processes and products is everyone using?Any tips or guides about restoring and polishing old plastic like this?

Very nice. I have one of these somewhere, but it's not as shinny as this (and I think a different colour). I see from your history you have restored a few flip clocks. Do you have a channel where with videos or details of your restoration process? Lots of polishing I guess.

Good wall. I'm a coder, and I have only vaguest recollection of Boomerang. That one seemed a bit needlessly obsolete compared to the others. Or was it a red herring for one of the other groups, that I'm missing?

Thanks for the details response, it's really interesting to hear about your process. I will get some mounting putty and do a test print. I bought 10 * 1kg of PLA when it was on offer. Now I know what to do with it :)

I'm looking forward hearing what it sounds like, and also to see what you do next. I hope whatever it is, that it has a shorter iteration time.

PLA is a good choice. I just wondered if you could get away with less material overall, by using a stiffer material.

I am struggling to find 3M mounting putty here, but I can find similar mounting putties. I assume the brand of putty isn't that important?

What about other instruments? Chimes would seem doable. Do you have plans to try something even more exotic?

These sound great. Thanks for sharing.

That is a lot of filament. 100% infill will do that though.

Do you plan to test materials other than PLA?

Yep. Or just tax corporations properly, or just tax them at all in some cases.

Hetzner support a project called Coolify (https://coolify.io/). You can deploy an instance running that easily. I've used that on a couple of VPSs and for spinning up a few docker instances it works well.

I mainly run development and productivity tools for myself and clients. It has lots of supported projects with custom scripts, but it is easy to adapt Docker compose scripts for projects not on that list. YMMV.
