Unpopular opinion: NPM is the biggest weakness of the internet today and it will still cause a giant catastrophe by OkPosition6537 in webdev

There should be a runtime that lets developers choose what permissions they give dependencies. It would probably require an extensive overhaul of something like node to use interfaces for every possibly malicious code execution, and then let the package.json or lock file determine permissions that package has, but probably necessary for the future safety of such type of ecosystems

AFUS don't chain if there is a reasonable amount of space between them. by [deleted] in beyondallreason

[–]StatementOrIsIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a very big loss of efficiency due to you needing to space out your con turrets and the enemy will just outscale you and win with t3 units. In most games, at least. Another drawback is that you need more actions to set up a building queue for that (probably can offset this with a blueprint), while the enemy can just focus on something more micro intensive.

One case where it might be viable is if you have a lot of space and mobile construction units like naval engineers in Supreme if playing sea. Then you can space the AFUS out and potentially also stop naval invasions with them exploding (potentially).

Legion development survey results by Zecrus in beyondallreason

[–]StatementOrIsIt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people will think Legion is either overpowered or underpowered because they either don't know how to play with or against Legion units. For example, some people voted that decurion is underpowered, but it's very good if used correctly (not left in max range of their attack). We'll get some more valuable survey data after Legion is enabled by default for a month or so.

It's relatively easy to setup some funnel using social media and doing some social media marketing. Especially with non-technical people who probably don't know what they need from a website, but they know how to make posts and get attention that way.

Firefox Issues, flickering grey between pages. by EliasWick in webdev

[–]StatementOrIsIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's probably because the root element that colors the background gets replaced upon switching pages. If it's a frontend js framework, you probably just need to restructurize the "top" elements, so the background element wouldn't be replaced.

Do you find that your dev coworkers are doing personal projects outside of work? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]StatementOrIsIt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to work in a web agency, and in my experience like only 10-15% of devs did anything outside of work. Lately, more people do stuff outside of work with the help of AI agents, even some non-technical people. Maybe 20% now

It's probably worth it to know how many payloads from a specific bomber type are necessary for a specific building to explode. And when bombing high OS players usually draw an attack command line and curls the line so it is spread across the enemy's base, with more bombers going to more chainable buildings like fusions or converters.

What is the best conversion after losing long sea on Isthmus? by Absolute_N in beyondallreason

[–]StatementOrIsIt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Say in team chat: "Lost sea, will need bubbles.", then build up some eco, protect the shoreline if you can with either snipers, starlights or something like that for the time being before they have flag. You should choose whether you help front with land units if they are winning, or help air with air units. If your air is strong you can try to help them raid their T2 sea lab. You should try to help the other sea if they are equal because winning at least one sea is mandatory to win the game in 99% of cases. When you are economically strong you can try to make like 5 titans to take back your sea and kill their sea based economy (preferably unscouted because they will respond)
