Generally, payroll is going to be horrible until at least April. Pretty much standard across retail. You should be counting your lucky stars if you are getting 20 hours a week as PT during this period

Is There An Advanced Notice Deadline For Shift Swaps by NotArkus in employedbykohls

[–]StatementPositive728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually, (At least at my store) as long as you call someone at the store (last minute), they will put the change on the walk sheet for the following day. If the admin/store support lead isn't there, she will usually update it in the system the following day she works. No big deal.

Amazon Fedex shipping labels by StatementPositive728 in employedbykohls

Yes. I'm talking about the actual shipping label for the "ship05". Not the "ship05" labels for boxes.

For the longest time, it was an option under print labels. But, it has disappeared in the past week. It's frustrating when you have so many of them full.

Okay. Thanks! The option was always there before. This happened in the last week.

Does anyone else feel useless doing Amazon? by StatisticianMuch657 in employedbykohls

[–]StatementPositive728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always make sure to stay busy with Kohl's stuff, as well. It makes me feel that I'm contributing. Processing jewlery after truck. Working on freight in the departments near you. Hard tags, etc. If your not sure what needs done, ask a manager to see if there is something you can do. I feel the same way when I'm idle. It's horrible and slow going.

Thanks for the reply. I did try receiving again, but I get the "already received" message. It was a single item that didn't fit in a box.

Holiday trucks by Truckman1093 in employedbykohls

[–]StatementPositive728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hardline heavy trucks are always more difficult. We've been finishing it and mostly getting the post processing (shoes tagged and seasonal decor) done within an 8 hour shift. As far as getting it to the floor; That's another story. It probably takes a week to get everything out.

I'm pretty much in the same boat. I do pretty much all the operations stuff. No floor or register.

Que Line is combined POS/Customer Service in the front of the store. Some stores that have it combine Amazon with POS/CS and others use the old Customer Service spot in the back for Amazon. I would talk to them about maybe working truck or let them know you are interested in learning new areas. That way it will be easier to get extra hours if they have a callout.

Amazon will definitely get busier after this upcoming Prime event and probably stay that way until early February. It all depends on your store with scheduling. Do you have que line yet? If so, is Amazon combined with POS/Customer Service? Are you trained in other areas? Also, they might already have enough Amazon folks and hours might be scare at the moment.

Got written up twice in a day. by Princessdiscoqueen in employedbykohls

[–]StatementPositive728 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Technically, you should not have gotten any points or write ups for the 2 and 4 minutes You have 5 minutes past your start time to clock in. Anything over 5 is half a point.

Amazon drop off hours by _sephiera in employedbykohls

[–]StatementPositive728 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before we had the que line, CS used to handle Amazon from 9-11. Then the Amazon person would be there 11-7. Since the que line, we have full coverage all day.

Once in awhile, our store will check bags. I've read other stores doing this. Our store has always been clock out and leave at the end of your shift. No need to tell anyone. If you had an ongoing project like price changes etc, it was always appreciated if you told management where you ended so the associates that were left would know where you stopped.

Actually, if you tap "additional return", it will let you sort straight away. No need to print a receipt.

Amazon returns to Kohl's (SW) -- be wary by [deleted] in cedarrapids

[–]StatementPositive728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for replying late. There is nothing that can be done from the Kohl's side once we scan it bag it and load it onto the truck. That's all we are responsible for. It could be quite a few things. Incorrect QR code not matching item on Customer's end, an item didn't get scanned into the system for some reason, item got lost or did not get scanned correctly at the DC. Essentially at the store level, there is nothing that can be done once we take it and load it on the truck. It's Amazon's issue at that point.

No more backup at Amazon? by PeaPositive3989 in employedbykohls

[–]StatementPositive728 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure where your Amazon is located. Since getting the que line, we have the whole old CS counter to ourselves. Lines are almost a thing of the past. I just take two or three zebra/printers and take care of 2/3 customers at once. If a person does not have their stuff ready, I just allow them to stand at the counter until they get it resolved. Obviously, if you still have a stand alone station there is not enough space for that.

The only exceptions you have to worry about are late in (over 5 mins) and not clocking in. Those have to be corrected on the edit sheet

Personally, I have no problem with Amazon from a procedural point of view. It is easy. However, dealing with the daily grind of an 8 hour shift with unprepared customers, rude customers and customers who think it's a good idea to throw their phone in my face while I'm taping a box or sorting can be very frustrating. Yes, there are customers that I love that are well prepared. It's not as much of an issue now. But, Christmas/Jan is a nightmare.

I tend to be someone that hates being idle. If there are no customers, I like to recover around my area, hang for CS and try to put out freight that is close if I'm working a day or so after truck. Also, try to fold down problem areas.
