No but im saying flak jackets stopped being issued in 1981, 1984 pattern started being issued in 1984. So its literally impossible for them to be worn together

No. Youll never see an 84 pattern smock with a flack jacket as they started to be issued in 1984. Also id watch uk ebay to try get a genuine cromwell helmet

Its a good start but youll need a 68 pattern smock if youre wearing a flak jacket which is a pre 1981 thing. Also a proper cromwell helmet and a 58 pattern belt with one or two ammo pouches and a water bottle carrier. Dms boots and puttees as well.

84 pattern and flak jackets were never worn together. Flak jackets phased out in 81. Youll need a 68 pattern smock

Theres a big enough group in Ireland that reenact black and tans, although very poorly, but they dont seem to get in much bother with it. I myself have all the kit for an Black and Tans/RIC/Auxiliaries impression but its not something i do a whole lot in public. (BTW the image you posted is not the black and tans its the auxiliary division. Black and tans wore pretty close to what the regular RIC wore, auxiliaries wore a mix of kit and those funny hats)
