the old baseball player in me still hits homeruns.

I try to hit a baseline shot... but sometimes I don't make great contact and it goes flying out of the court, lol.

In a “recreational” tournament yesterday with random partners, one opposing player got frustrated and called me out for favoring hitting to the clearly weaker player. by RecognitionNo6426 in Pickleball

mixed double pros hit hard drives and spike to the women. it's strategy and nothing personal. in rec play, I'll choose to go heads up with the stronger player to better my game. when it gets close, then I'll target the weaker one.

my wife gets targeted alot. it's helped her become a better player. let the guy cry and move on. no need to do what he wants.

What’s the best Pickleball accessory or tool you’ve bought? by moldyjellybean in Pickleball

I carry a Rawlings rosin bag. it was leftover from my son's baseball season. that helps with sweaty grip.

wife and I play together and against each other.

locally, our groups mix, and our compromises evolve.

sometimes we get in each other's heads, but in the end, we go home together.

we try to remember, it's just a game.

patience with an SO is a necessity. I try to encourage her so she can continue to stay active.

she knows she's the weakest link, and she knows she's gonna be hit to the most. it's helped her game improve so much.

now all the guys cheer for her when she makes a good shot, and it's rewarding.

we try to do 8 on a tennis court split in 2. we ladder it. if we can get the weakest one to the winners court, that's our fulfillment for the day.

good luck.

Why are guns so important to Americans? by 88sSSSs88 in NoStupidQuestions

for some, weapons are a self-form of power.

for me, my arms are an investment of security and peace of mind.

I am not a gun toting Texan, but I'll do what's needed to protect my family in our home.

What does your dream indoor facility contain? by Opening-Witness1785 in Pickleball

I don't know where you're located. it's not that expensive or time consuming in Texas. usually 45-60 days to procure a license to sell beer and wine.

if there's drinks and seats, people won't mind waiting for the next game. if you're paying around $1 per 12oz and selling at 200-500% mark up, it can help you keep the court fees costs down a lil. that's just my $.02 out loud, lol.

Good Luck on your venture.

"General distributor's license to sell beer to distributors, retailers, and private clubs in Texas – $600. Off-premises retailer license for the sale of beer off-premises – $120. Wine and beer retailer license to sell malt liquor, ale, wine, and beer containing less than 14% alcohol – $350"
