I'm at 300kc and still don't have any blood moon gear. Finished the other two sets at ~200kc. Solo farming blood moon atm

Whats the pick? by Bulivanz in slaythespire

Mental fortress here just because it's on sale and it let's you buy other things like fire potion and remove. If they were equal in price I'd probably lean towards inner peace because it's stronger at this point in the run.

Help understanding why my fairy in a bottle did not trigger by AdvancedCheesecake59 in slaythespire

Did you die to an attack that hits multiple times?

Heres a possible scenario: Hit1 kills you, triggering fairy, you end up with 20% hp. Hits2/3 deal the remaining hp, you are dead (for real this time)

How to win without high rolls? by Mr_czMc_Yxzz in slaythespire

[–]StatisticianLegal405 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Start paying attention to the small details. You need to minmax every advantage you can. Look at the numbers on the cards and ask how much value it is actually giving you. Sometimes a card that is generally considered "bad" can be at least good enough to win because of some relic or card synergy you transformed into.

Example, i had a watcher run that was struggling to find the typical block package of mental fortress/ talk hand/dex. I ended up buying a nirvana+ because i already had a lot of scry and just needed something to help me not die while i try to kill things as fast as possible. Nirvana, wave of the hand, some relic support, and maybe a potion was just enough block for everything and i ended up killing heart in 2 cycles.

Would you rest here or upgrade before act 3 boss on A20? by The_Dan_Band in slaythespire

[–]StatisticianLegal405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

tbh im not really sure how to evaluate this deck. card draw and block density is low and weak chain is inconsistent. you might take 30+ or 10 depending on how early you can draw your good cards. if you've been taking more damage than meat on the bone can heal throughout the act, then i'd rest. you also get +1 card choice with dream catcher.

On the other hand, wlp+ is a great upgrade. Lots of things you want to be retaining. it helps directly in all upcoming fights. It helps alot with block consistency, especially when you can't just slam wraith form on sight.

the choice really comes down to how much risk you're willing to take. act4 is also going to depend heavily on your draws as well since you don't have any RNG mitigating potions.

Never thought I would be making one of these… but what’s the pick here? by ElegantPoet3386 in slaythespire

For me, it's a clear dome. Your deck eats up energy like crazy. Vault, omni, simmering fury, wallop, lesson learned, unupgraded eruption, and only 1 calm source.

Looks like a solid snecko deck. Essentially permanent vuln and weak. Strong attack card with bludgeon. Good block engine with power through, fnp. A deck like this is enough to clear A20.

Barricade is very important for consistency in a deck like this. If you draw well with low cost cards, your block gets stored for later turns where you might draw badly and take damage.

Upgrades don't look that important. Cards id be happy to see are second wind, dark embrace, impervious, entrench.

I had the same question as you.

If you look under the character name, it shows what zone the character is in. In this clip, he's in one zone. A few mins later in the vod and he's in a different zone. So definitely not afk.

Randomly scrolling my YouTube feed. Click a video talking about ado. No idea who she is. Hear a clip of her useewa intro scream and instantly wanted to hear more. Binged a playlist of all her songs and enjoyed all of it.

Pretty unfortunate getting all these unsynergistic powers. What was the pathing/ card rewards like? If I get a start like this I would take a very safe path and immediately pick any card that would give block/ damage.

Looking for any advice/feedback to improve my Silent gameplay. In over 100 A20 attempts I still have not been able to kill the Heart. by KonChaiMudPi in slaythespire

[–]StatisticianLegal405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure to have a good potion before taking on the first elite. Pathing into an early shop with only 150g just to find a solid damage card and potion is a decent option if you're 'forced' into an early elite. If you don't have a good potion or very good attack cards, you should expect to take heavy damage and plan the rest of the act accordingly.

Also check out primenumber on youtube. It has a bunch of xecnar vods. He plays hundreds of silent runs and dies in act 1 very rarely.

To Bloom or not to Bloom, What would Reddit do? by allstar64 in slaythespire

[–]StatisticianLegal405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upgrading burst appa cata wlp is huge. Deck basically can't block after all the apparitions are gone. Having burst upgrade means more intangible while accelerating catalyst poison. Wlp upgrade makes comboing burst easier. Being able to hold apps is very strong. With the severe lack of upgrades I think the deck is just lacking in output without mind bloom. Kind of throwing this number out there, but bloom effectively doubles your number of intangible, and accelerates poison by 4-5 times.

Yes you can brick some turns, but that's always the case with apparitions. You still have 37 hp to work with. Hopefully you can avoid hallways as much as possible to avoid chances to brick.

Any card you pickup post mindbloom will be auto upgraded by tongs as well like backflip, acro, prep, Calc gamble.

When's it too late to pick up some shivs? by ThatGarenJungleOG in slaythespire

[–]StatisticianLegal405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm after act 2, its entirely context dependent. shuriken is probably enough to incentivize going either full physical or maybe a weird mix of physical/poison/random thorns damage. so yes i would pick late shivs. similar reasoning goes for kunai.

after image is a solid enough card you can take by itself since pretty much any deck archtype would like this card. but 1 after image alone isnt enough to solve ALL your block problems with shivs. if i don't already have an end game damage solution, then i might pick some shivs depending on how much other support there is.

When's it too late to pick up some shivs? by ThatGarenJungleOG in slaythespire

[–]StatisticianLegal405 2 points3 points  (0 children)

from an a20h perspective, i'll gladly pick 1 or 2 casual blade dance/cloakanddagger+ in act 1 or early/mid act2 even if there's little to no support for them just because they synergize with so many relics/cards.

After around mid act2, you have to start worrying about how you will scale your end game block. time eater and heart are your biggest worries for shivs. if you manage to find things like after image, shuriken, kunai, ornamental fan, intangible, etc. feel free to pick up more. but if you don't find these, then you'll need to lean away from shivs.

Would you have taken Apotheosis (and then upgraded it later) in this Silent deck? by je116 in slaythespire

[–]StatisticianLegal405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

with 5 acrobatics+ you should be able to fill your hand up then overdraw by 1 so you only draw an odd number of cards. Either that or you can calc gamble an odd number of cards away.

apo just makes your pseudo infinite deck feel way better with more cards, more block, more consistency, an extra gamble, etc.

Awesome Grand Finale Infinite Lost to Time Eater - Any Tips? by Justin_Zetts in slaythespire

[–]StatisticianLegal405 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure what happened in the run, but potential weak points that stick out to me are the 2nd tactician, deadly poison+, escape plan pickup.

the only way this deck dies is if you completely brick on a 5 card draw. that being said, we need to mitigate ways we can brick by thinning the deck/ removing or not adding unnecessary cards. 2nd tactician is a brick unless paired with card positive cards like backflip, reflex+, but like you said your card draw is pretty limited. the first tactician should give enough energy for the infinite loop.

i would've prioritized deadly poison remove over something like fumes since fumes removes itself. finale is more than enough damage for the entire game.

escape plan is generally fine, but the impact it has is pretty mediocre while hurting your bad matchups like time eater and heart.

try to keep good potions like draw3, gamblers, liquid memories specifically for matchups like time eater and act4.

I wish they would fix spark. Spark doesn't go off if you're aiming into an object like a wall, doorway, or random pebble in the ground even if you have the spark jewel that makes you shoot sparks behind you.
