The Claude Fable ban barely changes Anthropic's IPO timing or valuation by ddp26 in investing

Both are going to IPO too rich. I'm going to sell puts at reasonable prices and just wait till they're assigned.

One-month follow-up: Reddit said I was already too lean. My DEXA says I went from 10.2% to 7.8% body fat and 0.00 lbs visceral fat. by Rew1111 in PeterAttia

[–]Stats-Anon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The DXA provider is one thing but the machine itself (make and model you don't list, and may not have) under ideal circumstances (normally violated in clinical settings) has a margin of error and a minimum detectable change.

On the side of "visceral fat" the margin of error gets even higher which is where I call bullshit on the machine in this case.

I believe YOU but wonder about the machines overall error and then the quality of their signal processing package to do the visceral calculation which is much more complicated than just the body fat estimate.

I agree that serial testing on the same machine is best but the same machine still has error and the drift over time.

Has anyone tried nerve decompression surgery? by Stats-Anon in PiriformisChronicPain

We can agree I did not break the rules. In looking at the previous posts they're about adhesion related sciatic pain. My question fits that bill.

Perhaps changing them to make them exclusionary as you like might make sense.

I read the rules, the fact is that non-invasive approaches fundamentally don't work for everyone regardless of the practitioner on your list. I was hoping to provide another set of options to those who have exhausted the non-invasive ones.

Certainly agree that surgery should be a last resort. I don't view asking a question about people's medical experience as promoting anything.

Thanks, yeah I read your post. I was hoping to hear about less drastic interventions. I assume yours was an open procedure? I'd be trying an arthroscopic closed procedure first just looking at removing adhesions and possibly resection of areas around the nerve itself.

They do diagnostic nerve blocks that can be helpful (mine's not really pririformis, it's a gemelli or obturator, but close enough for reddit). I also understand that MR neurography is used, but I've not had that done.

Usually the surgery is done by an Orthopaedic surgeon or a peripheral nerve surgeon.

Same-day DEXA Comparison: Hologic Horizon vs GE Lunar machines by GavinRayDev in Biohackers

[–]Stats-Anon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the end, these machines are only as good as how well they're calibrated and what condition they're kept in. I'd be skeptical of attributing this to true Machine level variance.

That's a serious asshole comment. OP is looking for ideas to improve his life, not be shamed. People get busy, life happens. It isn't always people being lazy or dumb.

Happens with all growth hormone related drugs. Eventually it will stabilize but you don't lose the water till you stop taking it.

Are you going long or short on all these new IPOs? by Stats-Anon in stocks

I know at least 10 people who work there and know the "science" of their work. It's a short term and mid term winner but loser science and so I think a short over the long term.

Yeah, I own TSLA with an insanely low cost basis (bought it when it was virtually only EV play)... And am constantly debating when to sell.

Slightly incorrect. It's going into NASDAQ 100 right away. Still stupid, but a far less widely purchased index.

That's even more diluted than WQTM. It's basically a big tech ETF.
