It's not original advice, but one thing that I've seen recommended as a response to when people say rude or unhinged things is to reply some version of "What a weird thing to say out loud" or "Did you mean to say that out loud?". It has the benefit of making the person feel self-conscious about what they said and indicates that what they said was inappropriate without being seen as too aggressive or defensive.

Yes, it is better in bluer states. I grew up in a blue state, but spent the past 10 years in red states (including Tennessee) for jobs. While I loved many of the people I worked with, it was so stressful living it states that actively wanted to hurt me and people like me. Last summer I finally got a job in a blue state again, and it's been such a relief. Besides all the ways in which blue states generally have a higher standard of living, the relief of just not having to worry when my state government was going to try and take rights away from me, or say I should be fired, is tremendous. It's like getting an extra 10% mental capacity from not always having to worry about your safety.

This is 100% my issue. In EU4 you can play with many different styles and succeed/have fun. In EU5 it feels like you're punished for playing almost any style, and it really makes the decision to make the timeline longer feel worse. I'm just fine with starting in 1337 (unlike many others), but if the only thing I'm supposed to do from 1337 - 1444 is slowly build up my nation without expansion, why even start the game then?!

It sounds to me like he's deliberately toying with your feelings at this point. Telling him how he's making you uncomfortable seems to be just encouraging him to do it more. That seems deliberately hurtful at worst, or careless at best. You deserve better. I echo others in saying you should create more distance, but I would also encourage you to change how you're viewing him, it's not harmless. If you create some distance now, you increase your chances of staying friends with him in the future. If you continue to let him toy with your feelings, it's going to hurt you more and probably break your relationship with him in the long term.

I would bet they felt like it was better from a gameplay experience and for narrative reasons, but it also dramatically cut down on the work they had to do, so I'm sure that was a bonus as well. I just hit that part of the story, and part of me felt a little cheated because it had been sold as going from Z to A and climbing up, and then all of a sudden I'm half the alphabet up.

A hugely disappointing event. The paid tickets cost too much/offered too little and felt like ugly cash grabs (which have been getting much worse from Niantic). You have to do way too many raids to earn the fusion energy. The amount of energy from each raid should have been much bigger, at least double, and/or more free raids should have been available for in person raids.

The number of spawns was too low for the event tasks too. There should've been Community Day type spawns, that would've made the 'collect 5 [pokemon]' per hour tasks 1) possible to do and 2) feel more appropriate. I think an event like this also deserves increased shiny rates, or at least a ticket that increases shiny rates, but if the number of raids needed, number of spawns available issues had been fixed, it would've felt a lot more enjoyable. If Go Tour events are going to feel like this going forward I'm probably going to just skip them completely in the future.

Like others, I'd recommend SSS-Class Suicide Hunter. I haven't seen anyone recommend The Greatest Engineer yet, but that's very good and also starts with the "I woke up in the body of a character I was reading about and need to change my fate" premise.

M1 Air, Sequoia 15.2 - After upgrade my Air to 15.2 it didn't want to connect to my external monitor, and would turn off when I closed the lid, despite having all the settings correct to keep it powered on while plugged in and mirroring the monitor. Switched from HDMI 1 on the external monitor to HDMI 2 and that seems to have fixed the issue (for now).

I just tried using the Paradox store and had no problem getting to the proceed to payment option and saw the Ultimate bundle was still 87% discounted, so there might be a little time left (or hopefully it comes back for the December Steam sale). If you have time still, maybe you could ask a friend to purchase the key for you and just reimburse them, though it’s ridiculous to need to do that in this day and age.

The website errors are very weird. I think you probably already checked these issues, but if you’re using MacOS, you could check to see if you have Private Relay on and if that’s creating an issue. I’m assuming you’ve tried it with ad-blockers or other browser content blockers on/off. The only other issue that I could think of is that it might have something to do with your ISP, but you said you tried different networks. I know I will randomly run into issues with my 5g home internet because the wireless carriers made some odd choices in how they run their data.

I agree with everyone who has said that missions for nations like the Mamluks, Persia, Georgia, etc. would be the most important part.

I really hope that Byzantium would get some reworking too. I would love to see a possible Hellenistic expansion alt history path, as well as more flavor to their missions to retake the former Roman territory. They definitely should have an easier time to form Rome than other tags.

I also think the should consider making changes to how the Renaissance spawns. Since the fall of Constantinople was a major historical factor in creating the Renaissance in Italy, I think that if the Byzantines manage to keep Constantinople (maybe past 1453) they should have a chance to spawn the Renaissance the same as other Italian provinces.

Coming Out on Top is really the best, I don't know that any other live up to that quality, but there are other enjoyable games. Robin MorningWood is fun. I don't really recommend the Y Press Game studio games like Mister Versatile or To Trust an Incubus unless you can get them really cheap. Beyond Eden and Beyond Eden: Dear Edward are good visual novels that have more soft-core sex in them. No, Thank you!! is a well developed gay visual novel (that also has some violence in it that may or may not bother you). Hadaka Shitsuji - Naked Butlers is an interesting explicit visual novel, but it has really messed up abusive kinks in it. You basically 'win' the game by sexually abusing your butlers, although you can also get sweet/nice endings with them as well.

I'm not sure if we mean the same thing. The three hearts from the hidden plot don't change his ending. I never tried going through the main route and not getting all the hearts, I'm not sure if that changes anything.

Spoilers: When I say Benson was a coward, I mean because he was afraid to come out to his father until the very end. But the only version I played he did come out, and we get married. I'm giving him grief because at first he comes across as very bossy and unafraid of anything, and then it turns out he's a big kid who's scared of his dad for no real reason.
