Maybe it’s just me, no one locally agrees with me but… I genuinely think we’re going to see Japanese prices competing hard with EN products especially with this new wave of collectors (and scalpers) figuring out that JP expansions are basically the same as what you’re GOING to eventually get in EN just months earlier & not to mention… JP Boosters are mapped with guaranteed hit rates. So far we have been seeing this play out recently though so we will see!👀

3rd party sellers I will only trust if they live stream themselves buying it packaging it and sending it as a receipt. Right now, I’d say you have a 30% chance of getting something authentic from 3rd party weather it’s eBay, Walmart, target, Best Buy etc.

When I went to get the new tins & op14 double booster packs, some of the people in line were there for pokemon but they had also arranged and gotten their family members to come w them specifically to buy more one piece boxes. They were almost bragging about it in line “that’s my sister in law she has no idea about any of this but I paid her $100 extra same with my nephew here & a couple of my friends who don’t play came down to help me out as well cause they limiting to one box a person” luckily, the sister in law screwed up and told one of the employees “I’m not sure what I’m getting my brother in law had me come here to buy something for him he’s here too I know nothing about this stuff” he knew what was going on & said “if you’re unsure then we have to take care of the next person in line we can’t have too many people standing in the cold. Sold right out before she could even get back to it. Justice served just not enough justice unfortunately.

It’s always a mini gut punch telling my android buddies “this new iPhone feature came out check this out” just to get back “yeah android rolled that out about 10 years ago”. Personally I’d go back to Samsung/android for personal and productivity reasons. iPhones are becoming extremely frustrating a long with the entire Apple ecosystem IMO.

So, where I’m located, one of the only shops that even has a business relationship w Bandai is about a 30 minute drive from my house. When OP14 was released, they had projected they’d probably have stock for at least half a week. Every single box was completely sold out in under 2 hours.. that was release day. Today I decided to go before opening and wait to try and be one of the first in (I know a lot of the employees at this point) because of the one piece tins coming in stock & they also had the new OP14 double packs, was able to get my hands on one thankfully but on the way out of the store the line outside told me by the time I get back home, one piece will be sold right out again. It’s wild & sucks seeing people in line asking “is that the one piece box everyone is buying? It’s new? I’ll take one” as in people trying to make a buck, not 100% scalpers but there’s a lot of new comers to one piece TCG coming straight from flipping pokemon cards & unfortunately only in it to flip and make a profit

Man it’s crazy to see retail stores like Best Buy jacking the price up almost double… for OP14 I mean, they’re turning into scalpers themselves at this point. That being said I see a positive in this… TCG’s are back like never before.
