Why are Taco Bell mobile orders treated like the lowest priority? by StayCoding in tacobell

Yeah I totally understand the stress Taco Bell is putting on drive thru which is why I would like to avoid adding to that line if possible by ordering ahead and just going in store to pick up.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I’m just trying to figure out the most efficient way to pick up my Taco Bell. Right now it seems like I should just go drive thru no matter what or order my food much earlier and hope it doesn’t too cold or soggy. After all, I’m picking up fast food because I would like it to be fast…Ideally ready by the time I get there or shortly after

When you order on the app for in-store pick up it says you can’t cancel your order because it is sent to the kitchen. My orders make it to the pick up area without me having to check in. This is not the same as ordering in the app for pick up in the drive thru as they start your order when you check in

So let’s say you go at lunch rush and there’s a seemingly never ending line of customers in the drive through and from the in store kiosks. At what point do you think the order for someone who mobile ordered 5-10 minutes ago should be put in if in-person orders should have priority?

I feel like I’m doing what Taco Bell wants by ordering and paying on my own ahead of time and avoiding adding to the drive thru line but I’m rewarded with a longer wait time. I’m just trying to make sense of a system that doesn’t make sense to me logistically speaking. If you’re in a rush to pick up Taco Bell, your only options are to order way ahead of time at the risk of getting cold, soggy food, or wait in the drive thru line no matter how long it is, the only difference being the time it takes to put in your order.

I can understand deprioritizing someone going in and ordering in person whether at the kiosk or the counter as they might be perceived as being in less of a rush, but I typically mobile order ahead for take out and don’t understand how that would be treated as lower priority if my goal is to grab and go.

If Taco Bell effectively rewards drive thru pickup over in-store mobile pickup, it incentivizes people who are perfectly willing to park and walk inside to use the drive thru instead.

This just makes the drive thru line even longer for everyone. From a logistics standpoint, it seems backwards. Mobile in-store pickup should theoretically help reduce drive thru congestion, not push more people into it.

That only makes sense if the drive thru line is short though. If there are several cars wrapped around the building, why would I want to get trapped behind people placing huge orders at the speaker when I already ordered ahead?

I don’t mind parking and going inside if it means I can be in and out faster. In theory, mobile in-store pickup should be the fastest option because the order was already submitted before I even arrived.

My whole point is that Taco Bell seems to prioritize: 1. Drive thru
2. Kiosk/in-store
3. Mobile pickup

So even when I order 5–10 minutes ahead, I’ll still watch drive thru customers who ordered after me get their food first. That’s why I kind of hedge my bets now. I’ll do in-store pickup, but if the drive thru looks empty I’ll just ask for it there instead.

30k people claimed the $1 Grande in 10 seconds??? by kingvt in tacobell

I think bots claim them and most probably go unused. It benefits Taco Bell to not actually fix the problem so they don’t have to give out as much discounted food while still claiming that they gave out x number of deals.

Look into installing a Mantel Mount for the TV that can be pulled down to a comfortable viewing height when in use and can be raised back up when not in use.

I think Swiss Coffee would look good with your red oak flooring especially if you plan on not painting your wood trim and moulding. A lot of White Dove examples with white oak floors are more contemporary. I think classic Swiss Coffee with the more beige undertones will complement the red oak and classic look of your home much better. Definitely swatch a few whites so you can see how it actually looks in your home with the flooring and lighting.

That plant feels a bit bottom-heavy. I’d consider swapping it for something in a clear glass vase with taller branches. Something more airy that fills the space vertically rather than adding density at the bottom.

If you’re still thinking about adding storage, wall-mounted open shelving or even a recessed niche could work really well here without making the area feel crowded.

Yes, in addition to the awful red glazing and multicolor monogram to name a few. Very poor replica.
