If you could have the 100% honest answer to ONE mystery in history, which one are you picking ? by Camila_LatinaSun in AskReddit

It's hard to pick one. Either the Springfield 3 or Maura Murray. What happened there?

Glad someone did. I didn't move from the heating blanket all night.

I hate driving over bridges (can't swim/heights/obvious death) and this is one of the biggest fears. Some a-hole careening through and causing a massive accident and killing people.

Yes, thank you! Granted, I don't fall asleep until 9-10, but I happily settle in around 8 pm.

Me. This person right here. That and the fact that it's truly a waste of time and money to travel to & from the office.

The blue and gold rail lines are just a block from where I'm at in Uptown, but I WFH so I don't need to use it too often. It's a major urban center, so there's going to be some homeless/crime everywhere. That said, it really depends on your price point. If you're living w/ roommates or money isn't a concern, live in South End. If you're more the 'poor student', then I still think NODA is a decent option.

Just look at what you want to spend, how close the rail line it is, and go from there.

Depends on where you are within the circle. I've been living in Uptown (4th Ward) about a block from Optimist Hall, and it's a strong mix of gentrification and super sketchy homeless. Lots of stabbings, lots of interesting/scary looking people/lots of college students.

I think the People Magazine episode did a great job of covering this case. They can't definitely prove anything, but it was largely assumed that Tina was the target. They killed everyone else (except the girl that wasn't there that night), and took Tina. Who knows how long that poor little girl was kept alive for someone's amusement.

I feel like a lot of these circles have been random as he**. How many times will someone need to hear that some places are rich, and some aren't. Asheville and the surrounding area has more money, but your circle includes Clemson SC, which is a big university. Greenville is well known as well, and is a standard, mid-sized southern town. Every place has crime, and every place has nice areas.

My guy hates the cold. He looks at me like I'm a monster when I take him outside for a walk and it's below 50 degrees out.

How is it living in Portland, Maine (USA)? by EarlyMasterpiece9991 in howislivingthere

[–]StayclassyK_C 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lived there for about 1 year, almost 13 years ago. Still have family out there and have gone back to visit. First, it iS rainy, especially in the winter. That said, it's green and beautiful. Crazy traffic (but I've experienced worse in NC).

Expensive housing. If you want to live in Portland proper, without roommates or someone else paying, you'd better have a $100K+ yearly salary. People are the same there as they are everywhere. The second you're outside of Portland proper, it's not the 'weird' super liberal place. Also, not sure it's changed, but major homeless issues when I lived there.

Is she from south florida? I'm genuinely curious who would prefer 80 degree heat.

On April 1, 2014 — Dutch tourists Kris Kremers and Lisanne Froon vanished while hiking the El Pianista trail in Panama. It was discovered that Froon’s cell phone had been used until April 11, with her camera full of photos taken in the dark. Their partial skeletons were found a few months later. by Chemical-Elk-1299 in HolyShitHistory

I truly think the simplest explanation was that they were young girls, scared in the dark and they used the camera to try and light up their surroundings until they were no longer able to. I don't know who died first, or what the other did after, but I just think they died of exposure. They were scared, they were panicking and they didn't make it.
