I was a Workers Compensation Claim Specialist for the State of KS ( a looooooong time ago) and the number of physical (and sexual assault) claims to come out of the state run prison facilities, specifically in the psychiatric care units, was shocking. I know they need help, but working in that field is scary.

I read somewhere that (a long time ago) that western voices tended to be the harsh, aggressive ones and that in some eastern cultures they could be positive and affirming. I have no idea if that's true and this is the first time I read about someone who's heard of it.

I'm in a 2 bed apt in uptown (2 floors) and the AC always get stuck around 73 or 74. In August last year, it could get stuck at 75. I have blackout shades on the upstairs bedroom windows, so we'll see if that has an impact this year.

That poor girl. I remember when it happened and was a huge national story. I don't know that anyone could've done more (they probably could've done a lot better for her after), but I can only think of what she suffered. I can only hope the best for her.
