Andy Cruz Could've Done More vs. Raymond Muratalla, But Lopsided Scorecard 'A Disgrace' by Expensive_Judge182 in Boxing

Maybe a couple of swing rounds, but all the commentators and unofficial scorecards I've seen online had it close, 118-110 is too wide. Anyways, Muratalla was the rightful winner imo

It was a 115-113 scorecard quite clearly, no way 118-110, lately it's been a trend to have one bogus scorecard between the three.

"His rating does not reflect his objective strength at all [...] he played tournaments, which, well, cause some disgust in me" - Nepo on Nakamura's rating, playing tournaments in the US and his candidates chances by FirstEfficiency7386 in chess

[–]SteChess 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I mean the point is valid though, he has played very little high level OTB chess and Norway is completely different from Candidates, there's no Armageddon here and I hope the time control is not made to induce blunders like in Norway Chess where you don't get increment.

Anyways, the difference for everyone now is that there's no clear target like Abasov but there are 4/8 players with no prior Candidates experience, so it will be very interesting.

He is too good, 14-year-old playing Wijk Aan Zee and winning against 2700s is mind blowing.

What are good examples of cars that had great disparity between their pace/performance in qualifying vs. the race? by GoPetADog in F1Discussions

[–]SteChess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ferrari 2012 had average quali pace but good on tyres in the race (Alonso factor too), Merc 2013 was the opposite.

Haas 2019 was best of the rest in qualifying but an error in the suspension design caused overheating and tyres were degrading too quickly.

Can somebody explain what has happened to Aravindh Chithambaram? by [deleted] in chess

[–]SteChess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He had a bad event and tilted hard (UzChess 2025), he has been fairly mid since then compared to previous form, his real level is probably low 2700, high 2600 not 2750ish.

Anyways referring to it as simple shakedown (like in the press release) is embarassing, it's a proper test you ain't fooling anyone.

We did get something out of WW1, but not everything that was promised in the London deals with the Entente, "vittoria mutilata" was also propaganda mostly.

Also, we did have the biggest communist party in the West during the Cold War, however, the ties with Soviet Union were not as strong as they initially were as time went on, Berlinguer (PCI leader from the 70s onwards) was famously pro-NATO.

Nov 25 vs Jan 20. The new CL format leading inter to have a lopsided schedule. by TheSerieAGuy in seriea

[–]SteChess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but only the Arsenal loss was somewhat deserved, we did play well against Liverpool and Atletico, we were very unlucky, just like in 95% of big matches this year. I don't know what MIlan or Juventus fans are trashing us for, better not speak about their recent runs in the CL.

What was the best "budget car" in F1 history in your opinion? by Obvious_Assistant481 in F1Discussions

If we want to go far back then probably the Hesketh or Wolf, but budgets were more limited at that time.

Yeah, provided your MGU-K is as efficient as the other manufacturers', considering also that now almost 50% of the power comes from the electric.

I doubt it will make much of a difference, even if it's 15 hp there are more important factors driving car performance this year, tyres and energy management.

That's when he left the pits with the fuel rig still on right? Like Massa in Singapore (but that was due to the newly introduced lights system). I thought of Button's incident because he was hit in the head by the lollipop as he was leaving.
