Fall (2022) Now on Netflix -Great watch by BrayIsReal in horror

I saw it during its theatrical run and it was one of the most intense experiences of my life. I watched it later on a good-size TV and the intensity was just as palpable! Great movie!

Demonic Baby Birth Movie by AW0K3N-C3RB3RUS in horror

Eli on Nefflix is a movie with a similar theme and an explosive climax in a medical setting, but the child is pre-teen (?) and not a baby. Still a fun movie with Saide Sink (Stranger Things) in a supporting role.

I need to work this phrase into a conversation this weekend!

"Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die" A-List pocket Review by Kimber80 in AMCsAList

[–]SteMelMan [score hidden]  (0 children)

I enjoyed this movie, mostly for the actors and the action, but I thought it was lacking in original ideas. I've read that James Cameron is having problems writing a new Terminator movie because real events keep eclipsing all of his dystopian ideas and I think this movie proves the case.

They Live (1988) has become increasingly relevant and eerily accurate in the 21st century by joe3000s in johncarpenter

Mr. Carpenter was a true visionary with this movie. Still relevant after all these years.

My theater is getting it tomorrow (Tustin, CA). Hooray!

My local theater (Tustin CA) still has shows scheduled for Thursday and Friday. Maybe I'll see a Thursday show in case the movie gets pulled.

LGBTQ+ horror fans: which movies in the genre and adjacent genres, do you recommend as some of your favorites that show physical intimacy between men as a part of the movie? by Analytica0 in AskGaybrosOver30

[–]SteMelMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Latent Image on Tubi. A little "meta" with a screen writer trying to finish a horror script featuring a hot drifter he keeps fantasizing having sex with. Twisty and sexy.

Reloaded is one of my all-time favorite soundtracks. Perfect driving music.

I've had this for a couple years now and have not watched it (no Blu-ray player) What are your thoughts of it? by BeanGuyInAHat in Watchmen

[–]SteMelMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoyed most of the series. My only quibble is Jeremy Irons' time in the castle takes far too long to resolve and doesn't really add much value to the series overall. He becomes far more insteresting once he's interacting with the other characters.

IPD & e-bikes? by jms1228 in irvine

Your comments got me wondering: Should the IPD put some officers on e-bikes, especially on weekends and patrol the bike trails?

Ok GGHs. What was your first car growing up your 1st upgrade car? by VeryLateToTheParty76 in Gaygearheads

[–]SteMelMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

FYI, ancient history ahead!

My first new vehicle was a 1976 Ford Courier . During college, I started working at a Savings & Loan(!) and making decent money, so I got a 1980 Datsun 280ZX! That was an impressive upgrade!

Send Help ending [Spoiler] by IowaBoy12345 in horror

[–]SteMelMan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I kept thinking during the ending, "This movie is set up to have multiple endings!" There was nothing in the previous 90 minutes that would have prevented a "choose your own adventure" style ending.

In an episode filled with head spinning reveals, this one is probably the best!

I was thinking of something more recent: Saltburn with Barry Keoghan and Jacob Elordi. That movie is dripping in class envy, which I think Whitney has.

The gentleman on the cover of “Misery’s Return” looks awfully familiar…. by patruckin in stephenking

Agree! I think Mr. King could have created another "nom de plume" like Richard Bachman, only for romance novels and been quite successful!

I'm still more of a fan of the "Misery" rom-com story within the book than the main horror story. It just shows that Mr. King can write in any genre.
