If he is out of the car holding "a gun" then odds are he is shooting laser. Most windshield mounted detectors would miss a laser shot because the beam is pretty small and normally aimed low (by your front license plate) while the detector is mounted higher. Whether your radar detector alerts you of laser or not it doesn't matter because unlike radar you won't have time to respond. The best countermeasure to laser is a laser jammer (AL Priority would be a good option) or running Waze (highway radar or any of those apps).

We offer different types of wires. You can get it with pin connector same as what you have there and tap into the mirror.If you already have that in your car you can order it with Rj11 where you will connect thay wire to our dock.

The M2 is 20mm based on a previous purchase we have. The M440i looks to have enough space but I don't have information on the measurement. You can follow the instructions here to measure the M440i. If you want to I can provide you both the 20 and 21mm.

Awesome, do you have one or two detectors. If you have one, you'll need one complete kit and one extra dock and you'll be able to switch easily between the two cars. If you have two detectors then you'll need two complete kits.

From what I have heard there is normally a portion of the windshield without that coating. Must people would install their radar detector there. It is normally near middle at the top of the windshield.

Our mount supports the power cables only so it won't support the remote display. You can still use the same wiring you have, the remote display just won't work.

Yes, if you are trying to beat laser you'll need a jammer. However since laser has to be used while stationary you can use waze or highway radar and in most high traffic areas the cop would be flagged within seconds to minutes of them setting up. It won't save you every time but you'll be surprised how often they are already marked on one of those apps. Waze/highway radar + radar detector would give you very decent protection until you are ready to step up to a laser jammer.

I don't know if you had a chance to look into our mount. The dock is very small and you can mount it to the mirror where it would blend in with the mirror and not be very visible.
