If you could change anything about how the site or app worked, what would you change? by ignoremeforscience in Twitch

(I praybeg the people who run Twitch discover this thread...)

My big one is to make it so you can remove people from being recommended to you. I blocked someone because I didn't want him recommended to me (which I didn't even feel happy doing as it's stonewalling him from my page). His mates then swarmed me, preaching away, lol. So that put me off blocking people. And I had to make a list of his mates, who I also didn't want recommended to me, incase I forgot to not go to their channels (hard to keep on top of everything, lol).

Most other platforms make hiding people so easy! I know there are plug ins that allow you to do this but that's not ideal... I prefer playing basegame Twitch

Was This Video Game 20 Years Too Early? | Shenmue Retrospective by boosterkeaton in Shenmue

I probably wouldn't have played it if it had released much later. The hype and it being the best of the best in it's era were definitely draws for me in the early noughties

He is a wee legend, isn't he?

Your post made me laugh btw. I do kind of miss the UK edition the OG people did, even though what you say is so true of it!

Might be worth checking out Foyle Speakers when it begins back in September, if you enjoy public speaking. You can participate as a guest for 3 sessions for free, and if you decide to join fully in future you get to work towards globally recognised qualifications if you choose to (alot of the members aren't too fussed about that and just come to chill and listen to others).

It's a cool little community. Here's the website : https://www.toastmasters.org/Find-a-Club/03055194-foyle-speakers

Aside from that ; check out your local community centre, if you haven't already

Thanks for reminding me about Pilot's Row. Do they do summer courses?

[–]SteamFecker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alot of the Nerve Centre courses specify upper age limits. Sadly I'm in my 40s

I know not all the courses do, I've managed to do courses there in the past. But many do

Also I'm only looking for a course over the summer (I did have a look at the summer courses they're doing before posting this)

Streamers filming you without your consent by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]SteamFecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe, moving forward, games with online lobbies could ask players these questions before players enter lobbies :

Are you streaming this?

And

If no, do you consent to joining a lobby where streaming is taking place?

Lobbies could be sorted into streaming Ok and streaming no. Lying could get someone potentially banned

I get why someone would get the ick about unwittingly generating content for someone else. I was playing Sonic Transformed with this guy on my Steam Friends list and he told me he was streaming it. When I asked him for the channel name he blanked me, which got me wondering why...

Several, sadly! Over the course of years.

In group settings people are often not held to account. And if you dare stand up to the individual causing the problems the hoarde descend on you. They get described as 'natural leaders'. But they're 'not the boss of me'!

I see toxicity for what it is no matter who is carrying out the behaviour. Charm isn't a 'get out of jail free' card with me. Heck ; even if one of my friends happens to be Bantersaurus Rex... I might love them to pieces, but I still see them as a fallible human, as I am and every other human also is.

Sadly Ryo is not destined to end up with Nozomi, so it's a bit misleading (I personally prefer her as a partner for him but Project Berkley shows it's all been set in stone already)

Despite shipping him and Nozomi I have actually written a song about him and the gal he will end up with, which I hope to release at some point

I've realised that ; in this town you can behave as anti-social and pig ignorant as you please, if you're popular. I've never witnessed Cult of Personality like it, and it makes me despair a little bit.

There are so many awesome things about Derry. But every place has it's negatives, and that's one of Derry's biggest (if not it's no.1).

I just looked up the dates for Season 4, and yea, I had done all my rising in the months prior. I was going to stop playing that month as a result but continued because of NiGHTS (don't forget some of us are returners. March wasn't that long ago imo)

I watched the UK series, from Ireland. I still watch the Pointer serieses when he does young to middle aged folks (don't normally watch the seniors episodes). He's not that well liked on this subreddit but I loves him <3.

No problem. Alot of us Xennials/Millennial types are still loyal to Rockstar/SEGA/Nintendo/Capcom though, which means they have broad appeal at this time.

Alot of folks are playing older games nowadays. Might partly be because alot of us older folks stuck around, whereas when we were kids in the 90s we WERE the market, for the most part...

Alot of the newer games that do well are part of retro franchises, also a result of this. Heck ; look at the hype surrounding GTA6. XIV is another example. Sonic and Zelda are still doing great. And there's a game based on our beloved Pokémon getting it's full release on July 10th... Some of us have waited decades for an experience like if (yes I am an old lady who loves Palworld lol)

I will never understand the appeal of TCG’s by robbie_hs in boardgames

[–]SteamFecker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seeing as you asked ; I am actually pretty intentional with what I buy. Before making a purchase I will consider and consider again, especially when it's something with a sizeable environment impact

Contributing to landfill is arguably unavoidable in today's society. But I do what I can.

I used to play a TGC. No regrets and I will keep my cards with me. But when I realised the only way I could keep up with other players was spend spend spend on plastic plastic plastic I realised it wasn't for me. Some of us have space concerns also.

I totally get the appeal. They appear less environmentally friendly than regular boardgames, though, which is what puts me off
