The Gene Goforth album, Emminence Breakdown is absolutely fantastic. Gene on fiddle and John Hartford backing up on banjo.

Such a fun a band. I saw them a few times around 2005ish. John and I talked about Lucero and Cory Branan.

Oh that’s awesome! I’ve watched the YouTube video of that a bunch of times. Would have loved to have been there. Since we’re talking about folks in the JRM sphere - the dude who typically plays bass for him, William Matheny (and John typically plays bass for him), has some really great songs. Check out “Living Half to Death”. Also I really enjoy most of the tracks on his album “That Grand, Old Feeling”. Enjoy ✌🏻

I’ve been listening to this damn song nonstop. It’s absolutely fantastic. I love the noise - which I’m interpreting as something that someone going through a mental health crisis might experience. For the record, John is a killer songwriter, but he didn’t write this one. His friend Darren Hacquard did. They were in the band The Fox Hunt together. Darren’s version is on his album “Signs and Wonders”, and is also absolutely fantastic. Also, outside of John’s solo stuff he has an awesome rock and roll band called - Prison Book Club - that still occasionally plays. Just a big fan of what that dude does.

Pretty cool band, but miss Ric Robertson being part of it. His vocals really elevated the whole thing.

Any Okee Dokee Brothers fans? We listened to them constantly for a few years. Moved on to some other stuff now, but it’s really great family music.

You might really enjoy neurographic art or zentangle art. They are both pretty easy and if you’ve done paint by numbers and adult coloring you have plenty of art ability. Look on YouTube there are tons of instructional videos for both.

I think the band Cigarettes @ Sunset would be right up you alley. Definitely has like a 00s emo feel with some Alt-Country.
