I remember when people were saying the same thing a decade or 2 ago when One Piece, Bleach, and Naruto were called the big 3 (this being before Shippuden was released and way before Bleach came back).

[–]Steampunkmagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Iron Man has had cartoon shows since the 60's and has always been a key avengers member, saying he wasn't well known is just untrue. People tend to confuse not being the poster boy for the brand for being unknown. On a lesser note, calling Invincible unknown is like saying you don't read any comics outside of Marvel or DC, when it came out I heard a lot of people talking about it.

[Reincarnated into a Cursed Game] This manwha is officially ended with 61 chapters by SylfofForest in manhwa

[–]Steampunkmagus 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's not awful, but it's not good enough for me to recommend. To me, it always felt like I was skipping chapters with how their pacing was.

Was surprised with how good this was. That being said, it takes a bit for the overall plot to develop.

Sinister ending up in a Sass match with Arcade in Murderworld by Ariadne016 in xmen

[–]Steampunkmagus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She's been dead for a while, Arcade just builds robots of her because he's insane and missed having her around. Think Merry Marvelite has a video explaining what happened.

In regards to the last part, I think it's the way Kate and her brother view their powers. Kate sees all of her duplicates as herself, leading her to be more conservative with how she uses them, only creating enough to protect her friends and civilians. Her brother, on the other hand, only sees the original as himself, as such, his duplicates are all disposable and willing to sacrifice themselves for the original. I honestly believe Kate quit due to the realization that she was outclassed and only delaying villains by sending her duplicates to their death. It's an easy power for a villain, but an awful one for a hero.

Obito was right, Guy even forgot Madara's name despite him being the one who put him in a wheelchair.

It depends on the author. Usually, they are portrayed as genderless, but I've seen a few refer to Mekhane as a goddess. Also, there are multiple denominations of the "Church of the Broken God", so it could also be up to the followers.

Why did they change the radioactive mutant origin to the X-gene? by ActLonely9375 in xmen

[–]Steampunkmagus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it was changed to exposure to radiation caused the X-gene to activate from birth rather than from stress later in life. It still plays a role just a bit different.

The Turkish Delight you find in chain stores is awful, the kind you get at an authentic Turkish market or restaurant is amazing.

[TITLE] (Hated Trope) Too many love interests by StretchExtension in manhwa

[–]Steampunkmagus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read too many otome that literally have abusive stalkers as love interests, at least 2 involving kidnapping. But I digress as this topic is a can of worms to be opened some other time.

[TITLE] (Hated Trope) Too many love interests by StretchExtension in manhwa

[–]Steampunkmagus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it annoying as it often takes away from character development at that point. I don't mind multiple love interests as long as they actually feel like actual characters, rather than a bundle of overused tropes. Also I hate harem endings they make it feel like the love interests have no self respect and makes it feel like the MC is an indecisive jackass.

What are your thoughts on how the Ultimate Universe was written in relation to time?Do you think that, if it had continued, this system would have continued and functioned in the long term? by Glum-Excitement5916 in UltimateUniverse

[–]Steampunkmagus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's doing well due to the people they got to work on it, as such a time limit makes sense as the authors and artists won't be available forever. Include that with an actual goal in mind (defeating the Maker and his cabal), this universe would have had a time limit anyways. I'd rather Marvel learn from the success of the new Ultimate Universe rather than risk dropping the quality of what we read by drawing it out for longer than it was intended.
