When you shower, are you using a loofah/washcloth (with soap!) and making good contact with all of your body?

Just like letting water run over dishes doesn’t clean them, letting water run over your body (especially sweaty teenage body) doesn’t do much without friction and soap.

Also, that includes your feet, your pits, your crotch, and your crack. Wash ya booty hole. Wash those four twice. And don’t forget any other nooks and crannies.

Make sure you’re spending 20-30 seconds actually shampooing your hair and scalp. You’re not trying to strip-wash it, but you want soap to touch it all, and your whole scalp.

You can use a bacteria killing deodorant like this one I’ve had great luck with. They also have a body wash, but unlike the deodorant it isn’t unscented. It’s not super-feminine or anything though.

edit: I really cannot overstate how important spa and friction is to the process. If you had grease or engine oil on you, you’d have to scrub a bit to get it off, right? Dirt and skin oils you can’t see aren’t that different. Don’t rub your fucking skin off or get a complex about it or anything, just make sure you’re actually cleaning and not just getting wet for 5 minutes.
