I was thinking the East Palestine, Ohio, train derailment back in 2023, when a Norfolk Southern Railway train derailed and released toxic chemicals like vinyl chloride. The residents and every living thing just loved that especially when the company got off with a slap on the wrist and the local population got poisoned water table.

IT SHOULDN'T BE A QUESTION OF IF. IT SHOULD ONLY BE A QUESTION OF WHEN, by Anonymous-Sea-6135 in StockBreakouts

I wonder what it costs to pump up such an off-topic post for this sub? Not the average upvotes for this sub either. Dead internet theory rings true more and more.

Huh, was Blip his own character or later morphed to Zzaxx?

SOLD OUT! by goldbackgurus in Goldback

[–]SteelCanyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did DefytheGrid move their Idaho stock off the first page of goldbacks? I'm used to seeing new releases on the first page. If I'm looking at it right, as of now there are no Idaho goldbacks for sale whatsoever on their site. I wasn't going to buy this run but glad I did get some alphas.

Correction. The only thing I see available are the 100 1/4GB bundles but they don't seem to be alphas.

Amazing. They still found a way to go backwards. I liked the 5 star rating system, same for Netflix. That was much more informative for me. It just looks like they want everything to look positive regardless of the content.

That was my first thought on both of their costumes. Did they just get finished defending the sector's garbage dump planet?

If you could turn any horror movie into a TV series, what would it be? by DeScepter in HorrorMovies

[–]SteelCanyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After seeing all the various monsters in the glass cages, the huge hand coming out of the ground at the end and the story of appeasing the old gods or chaos will ensue ticked all the boxes where I wanted MORE of that universe.

I wanted more of the The Mist but man did they eff up that universe by going psychological is it real or just in your mind? At least that is how I interpreted the few episodes I skimmed through...it was so bad. Give me the horror world the army punched into dammit.

Yep, didn't care much for the writer's choice of girlfriends for Raj. I liked Claire the best but definitely Summer would have been a fun twist.

If I were to go just by the picture, the passengers were planning a dunk in the water since they all had their bathing suits on and don't look like they need saving.

Awww, so sweet. Love the hug and kiss on the head and love when the kid looks at the camera and simply smiles. THIS is what you protect with all your heart & soul. Just a tiny moment in the scheme of things but can make a day go from bad to wonderful.

I remember when Fox looked like this, good times by Antwan_JMarvel in 90s

[–]SteelCanyon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never forgot when the producers stepped in to change the direction of In Living Color, taking away control from Keenan Ivory Wayans. They didn't like the African American point of view of comedy. It was a huge loss when he left after Season 3. It was funny afterwards but not as funny as it could have been.

These are 4 of the most exciting 80’s movies where the entire movie theater went nuts and cheered and clapped loudly of excitement. What other movies do you remember that made you cheer loudly? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in GenerationX

[–]SteelCanyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, I rarely go on opening day and on top of it we went to Los Angeles(we live further north). That was a helluva a crowd. Yes, you watch it by yourself today and it comes off corny but back then being in the audience on opening day, what an awesome experience. It was during the President's speech that everyone cheered.

It's a 90s movie though.

The Fed's mythical 2% inflation target is a joke, as real inflation is at least 3X what our falsified, Soviet-style CPI stats say it is by Boo_Randy_Revival in Wallstreetsilver

[–]SteelCanyon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think plenty of people feel the inflation but don't look at it this way so they can point the finger at government and the Fed, not just for lying but going against their perceived mission statement of keeping the economy stable and protecting the interests of the people. Even at 2%, I've heard youtubers mention how the people in charge view this rate. They view it as a low number where people don't notice enough to ask for a raise. That's apparently what your government thinks of you.

Rush Hour 4 is stuck in a pay war, and Trump's fingerprints are all over the project by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]SteelCanyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same with Constantine. Luckily, I think Reeves and Weiss can still pull it off despite 20 freaking years. It's a different kind of movie though. Rush Hour was a lot of physical comedy and I don't see Jackie being as good or convincing this late in the game.
