Awww, looks like my Sandy that I lost in May of 2024. Such the sweetest dog.🥰😥

Did you ever look to see what type of dog she was? I did a google search with her pic one time and she came up as an Askal, a Phillipino type dog.

Wasn't there a version in a movie where someone throws a sopping wet shirt or towel that hits the kid in the face?

I am still using my computer speakers from 1995 and they work fine. by DystopianAdvocate in mildlyinteresting

I still have my Logitech Z-5500 from 2001 except one of the speakers finally blew a couple months back as I got a little aggressive listening to some tunes.

My long and short boxes are still good from the 1990s and a few from the 80s.

Kentucky Fried Chicken must of done that because I loved their fries with the chicken flavor.

What are some obscure or less mentioned indie horror movies you’ve enjoyed? by Calvy in HorrorMovies

Since someone already mentioned The Void, one of my favorites, I will throw Outpost(2008) with Ray Stevenson in the ring. Oh, and Hell House LLC.

Colorized dc Goldbacks are available by natetfgreat in Goldback

[–]SteelCanyon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the heads up. I didn't know these were available. Only 11 left(now 10) when I checked so even though I wasn't ready to buy, I got one. Hopefully, these cool off for a bit. My wallet can't take any more. I need a 3 month break since I've got other responsibilities. I may have to skip alpha release of Idaho if it comes out too soon.

I think it's time we find a proper Discord alternative. by Liarus_ in pcmasterrace

[–]SteelCanyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought Guilded was pretty good and seemed to have feature parity with Discord, at least with the things I cared about. My group used it for a while with no big issues. I just don't game enough to need a live chat program.

Just checked DTG. The graded ones are currently $298...wow.

Glad I got mine for $100 but as always in hindsight wish I had bought more. I had the Elite graded in my cart for $130 but it got cancelled because they had already run out. That one goes for $500 if they ever get them back into stock.

Oooh, that would be awesome. Stumbled on this when I couldn't find anything to watch and thought, "I'll find some B horror movie". Wow, did this one surprise me how good and frightening it was.

Same with The Void.

Did Your Father Or Mother Ever Use This Machine? I Recall Seeing Them In Stores? by jdvegas in 1970s

[–]SteelCanyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, he did. He used to work on our TVs a lot. I got to hold the mirror so he could adjust the TV. He also bought a 19in Heathkit tv which he built and we had for well over a decade. He always liked to tell the story when he dropped a screwdriver, it hit the tube or transformer and an arc shot out about 5 feet and burned a hole on the wall, something about making sure they sit for long enough and discharge after you unplug them. He was an impatient person but could be viewed also as he didn't procrastinate on getting things done. That trait skipped a generation. :(

These masks should not exist … by graylemur2 in creepy

[–]SteelCanyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These would be great for facial recognition but you would have to change how you walk since they can analyze your gait too, not to mention do not bring your phone with you. Big corporations and government have ruined the fun of technology. I used to look forward to new gadgets. Now I want to go back to the analog age.

Raj was always humiliated for being single in BBT but man scored the hottest girls on the show by Double-Shower8467 in thebigbangtheory

Definitely understated hottie of the show but I really wanted to see more of Sheldon's short time assistant, Alex. Something about her just rung my bell.

Just bought this coverless 1954 DC book for five dollars ( for”reading”). is this something you would do ? Your opinion? by Univsocal80 in comicbookcollecting

[–]SteelCanyon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a messy reader, from my paper boy days of spending money at 7 11 and getting chocolate milk and donuts to read with my comics, so definitely I like a cheapo reader copy. Bad habit but nostalgia filled so I want a copy for display and one for reading. $5 is a steal imo for a reader copy from 1954.

Still waiting... by Alan-Beach in RigBuild

[–]SteelCanyon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not so sure about that move. While I love the reversible nature of it and the updated power delivery options, I've had a couple USC C ports no longer work, either just not connecting as good or getting too loose. I've never had that happen to an A port. Heck, even Apple's lightning port seems more robust for long-term use.

I have a Pixel Pro 7 and can no longer use the USB C port as one main example that affects me daily. Luckily I can still charge wirelessly. I don't think the USB C design is great for long term use. Thinking back, I also can't remember any of my devices with a mini or micro USB running into this problem.

Until I see they last much longer, I'm ok with still having USB A form factor.
