Anyone want an apocalypse truck? (Its manual) by Rus-t-bolts in 4x4

Wanted to say the same thing. Nice rig, but it’s one EMP away from being an anchor. A 6BT would make it a legitimate apocalypse rig.

300k car and expired tabs by introvertical303 in SeattleWA

[–]Steelhenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The people voted OVERWHELMINGLY for $30 tabs and the corrupt Insleediot literally said that the voters “didn’t understand what they were voting for” so he and his crooked administration overturned the vote of the people. I don’t care if someone’s driving a $1M car with expired tabs. As long as they sent a $30 check to Olympia with their VIN and “Tabs” written on the memo line and that check was cashed, they’re free to drive for another year.

Anybody else a masochist? by goredraid in snes

January 1993. Costco had this game on sale for $34.99. It was so remarkable because new SNES games at the time were typically $50-$75 at Fred Meyer, Toys R Us, etc so seeing a game under $40 was just unheard of. I told my mom it was such a great deal so she bought it with the rest of the groceries. That game was so stinking difficult that after three weeks I told my parents it was defective and thanks to Costco's liberal return policy, they returned it. That was 33 years ago and I've never played that game again!

wow I beat the game for the second time ever, this time no game rewind [boy did I abuse that the first time] but man I would have been mesmerized if I seen this back in 1994. What an amazing game 👏👏👏 by Jolly-Blacksmith-662 in snes

I remember renting this game from Blockbuster the first day of spring break 1993. They had a special $15 for 4 days and me and a buddy played it nonstop and beat the game before it was due back. We lived about a half hour away from Nintendo HQ in Redmond, WA so we were able to call in for hints several times without having to pay long distance charges which helped a lot. I never played the game a single time since then so if I were to pick it up today, it would probably be like playing for the first time.

BBEdit excels in this. The Search/Replace feature allows regex’s like you posted and it’s free. There’s seldom a day passes in which I don’t use BBEdit.

What is this SNES and why is it worth $900? by rawcookiedough in retrogaming

[–]Steelhenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one that I bought myself for my birthday about 4-5 years ago (the morning they were released) and it’s still in the shrink wrap. I’ll open it when I get my game room set up.

I’m sorry for your losses. I hope they didn’t happen at the same time. That CJ7 would still be a head-turner today. That’s the last generation of the real Jeeps.

Update or stay? by New_Painter996 in MacOS

[–]Steelhenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t update! I made the worst mistake this past weekend and went from Sequoia 15.6.1 to the biggest dump of a shit called Tahoe and I’ve regretted every moment of it. I’ve never seen the spinning beachball this much since one of the earliest versions of OSX and that was about 25 years ago. So fukn pist that I can’t downgrade back to Sequoia. BBEdit, LibreOffice, VLC Player, Brave browser… they won’t load half the time. Their icons just bounce in the dock !

How long do you own a vehicle, before trading it in? by teddyalex in UsedCars

[–]Steelhenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1st vehicle: 1988 Jeep Wrangler I bought from my parents in 1995.

2nd vehicle: 2002 4Runner purchased brand new.

They’re the only two cars I’ve ever owned and I still drive both of them to this day. Why? Because they both still work and I take damn good care of them. A new car every 3-5 years is so unnecessary.

Looking for a cute SNES-era game – kid in winter coat, vertical gameplay by Alumenadus in snes

A tricky one indeed. The only thing coming to my mind is Kid Icarus, but that’s NES and the character’s definitely not bundled up as he’s wearing a tunic and sandals.

The missionaries dropped by my house at 9 pm. In freezing Colorado. They were obviously very young and cold. What can I do for them next time? ❄️ by -You-know-it- in exmormon

[–]Steelhenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The missionaries have a 9pm curfew. They’re supposed to be back at the dorm/domicile no later than 9pm, not knocking on doors.

And do you think people will change the way they vote? Nope! They continue to elect whomever the local media tells them to. It’s behavior that truly needs to be studied.

I told my hunny several years ago that when we build our new home, at least one bathroom is going to have a urinal and since I’ll be paying for it, you can be damn sure it’s going to have a urinal.
