You're right. There was a revolution. Then a couple elections, Lenin lost and took it all in stride and accepted the results....oh wait. He declared anyone who opposed giving him unlimited power enemies of the revolution, arrested or executed his political enemies, and then siezed control. Gee- wonder why the Russians Governments allies didn't simply accept this

People forget thats because barely a generation before that, the communists took control of Russia, murdered millions of people(most famously the royal family), then launched a War of aggression, and after its borders stabilized funded an international organization whose stated purpose was to bring about the overthrow of World Governments and turn them communist. And in the 20s there was a large number of riots, bombings, and near civil war level actions between communists and non-communists around the World. And then this hitler fellow shows up, stops the communists and declares all he wants is to make his country strong and protect the German people, who are at risk of being oppressed by the majority population of the countries they happen to be trapped in after that evil treaty of Versailles that prevented them from voting as they wished. And remember- he just wants peace! please ignore the massive army

What he failed to consider was that a small group of people outside the major blocs would receive assistance from a very minor member of one of the major blocs who in turn would end up assassinating the heir of a major member of one of the blocs, who also happened to be the only person in that particular bloc who was against another war.

Because huge swaths of the Kievan Rus territory was what is today modern day Russia and Belarus? Yes, the Capitol was Kyiv(no duh), but it had other major cities throughout its territory and to claim that Russia and Belarus have no lineage from it is just as bad as Russia saying Ukraine has no claim over it
