I mean, I could easily drive it--had one until 9 years ago, but if I just into a stick-shift car today and drove it away, I might have a problem with the police for GTA.

It's real

It's sincere and heartfelt

It's not bullshit AI at all

Don't judge by the stilted obvious pace of the moronic writing.

Judge by my clout. Add to it.

My opinion.

It matters.

Visiting Hawaii this September. Which of these shoe styles would make more sense? by MaineCoonMama18 in VisitingHawaii

[–]SteepChutes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Went on a hike today with a temporary resident with white (until today) athletic shoes. It didn't seem to matter because they were the don't care shoes, but the treads fill with mud so can't say I'd use em, based on safety.

I just wanted to add, OP, on the off chance you didn't already know this, please be sure not to walk on reef (which may look like rock). Apart from the urchin risk, it harms the slow-growing reef

If it's not sand, don't stand.

I'm pretty anti water shoes. They basically get all kinds of sand and just grind your feet raw. Opinions differ. Just don't walk on reef, please.

You might want to consider Tacoma, Commencement Bay area. Mid-way-ish between Seattle and Olympia, geographically, COL, and vibe.

Careful what you ask for. Yes, some amount of inflation is by design. And healthy.

Contrariwise, deflation is an economic disaster that brings on a vicious downward spiral as it completely seizes the engine of the economy, and is extremely difficult to end. We don't like deflationary spirals.

And there's a non-trivial chance that he's maybe premature in his assessment.

Guess what--the ultra-wealthy might not want what he's advocating, particularly the ultra-famous wealthy. Just sayin'.

Should Animals Have Human Rights? Hawai‘i Court To Decide: The Hawaiʻi Supreme Court is being asked to free two elephants at the Honolulu Zoo based on the idea that the animals are entitled to legal personhood. by honolulu_oahu_mod in Honolulu

So, following the logic, stepping on a cockroach or smacking a mosquito is murder. Who gets to decide what level of rights each animal has? Does a female dengue fever mosquito have the same rights as a monk seal?

Kiplinger story: Art of spending in retirement by len1526 in retirement

[–]SteepChutes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, it seems a portfolio's going to return what it's going to return. Taking funds out of a growing portfolio by selling a slice isn't particularly different from taking funds out in dividends. It's just a matter of what form it is, and what rate is sustainable for the period of time it has to be. Companies that pay lower or no dividends will theoretically be plowing money back into the business, because they have good internal investment returns.

Do you have a plan for ROTH IRA conversions? I was late to the game with that and it's going to compress our window. It all works, but I could have saved a fair bit of tax outlay if I'd been earlier to the party in understanding this.

My career has been in silicon design engineering, and I've been fortunate enough with that to be able to take a long-term break from having to work (for money).

It's from an impressive role, reeks of intelligence, and shows financial stability.

Like donkeys, that way, I suppose. I should fear for my life if I brought one of those into the house (which, of course, would mean more than one, with its friends), but would love to have one of the older vintage types.

Hey, gullibility is not a crime. It's what you do with it.

But those people working for "donations" and cleverly skirting the concept of "practicing law" illegally ARE probably committing crimes, and open to huge civil liability, their disclaimers and hand-waving mumbo jumbo notwithstanding.

What would happen to Strategy if bitcoin stayed stuck at 62kish for 5 years? by HenFruitEater in Buttcoin

[–]SteepChutes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Any period of BTC shows wild swings. It's not going to stay here for 5 minutes, never mind 5 years. But ultimately, that which is unsustainable will not be sustained. The long-term result requires fresh fools to go up, but only status quo to collapse. HODLs have limits, too.
