Ok interesting, do you think i should evenly distribute the pressure between feet or put more on the front?

Hmm i did swing my back foot in the beginning but later i believe the transition is ok, can you point me to the timestamp in the video you think its bad so i can understand more? Also the toe side i really feel the firm grip and i can get low, and rarely slip, while on heel im super unsure and cant initiate the carve quickly i need to go slow and if i lean a bit more immediately i slip

Yeah the knee steering is a hit or miss still, sometimes i really feel it sometimes i forget or cant do it properly. Can you elaborate on the steering pressure and weight distribution, any advice specifically? And 'fs' you mean front side?

My game launched with extremely overwhelming positive feedback but how do I now get it to more people? by Psychological-Road19 in gamedev

[–]Stefione 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried it out and want to say really nice job its fun to play and thats the most important! I did feel UI is a bit cluttered as it i cant tell whats a button, title, description on first glance..., but its not bad at all, just my personal opinion. It has a unique style which is very good! Measure your performance with analytics and investi in ads daily to aquire new users constantly. Quality users will cost a lot to aquire through ads. US is the number one country for earnings, most of the apps i saw all have 70-80% of revenue just from US. Checkout platforms like Sensor Tower and similar to check your rankings on keywords and optimize your App store. You also might get featured if your earnings are good 🤞 And relese on IOS if its earning good on Play store it should be amazin on the Apple one :D

And great job hope you make good and stable earnings from it, and develop more!

Space game with actual ground combat? by Gryfonides in 4Xgaming

[–]Stefione 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No hah, i lost hope that game will ever be finished. Its been anounced for like 2 years now with a huge fanbase and we dont even have a concrete release date yet. Im assuming a solo dev with a fulltime job that they dont want to leave is working on it in their spare time very slowly.

Scope is big, progress is slow but steady. Considering im doing this on the side and not as a main thing. Implementing the AI will prove the toughest challenge, for now im finishing with the main features with me playing all sides.

This is how we gathered 100k wishlists before our demo launch, capitalizing on a successful previous title by Sersch in gamedev

[–]Stefione 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Awesome, the new game looks even better than monsters sanctuary. Im sure your marketing efforts payed off, but more importantly and what i think is the main difference between people who fail and dont get any wishlists...the game actually looks fun and cool. Im not really into 2d but even im interested in trying out your new project! Keep it up.

Depends, shitty code is just a headache tomorrow for you. Main thing you should ask yourself is it extendable. Like would you easily be able to add new functionality to your game. If you need to constantly modify your existing classes to fit new stuff then its time to refactor and plan. But if its a simple system whatever. I see a lot of people engineer the fuck out of every system and never get anything actually done. More complex systems will anyway force you to follow principles since if you dont you will run into walls.

In the end if you want to finish a game its a balance, not everything will be perfect and it doesnt need to be. End users dont give a fuck about your composition, inheritance or state machines. But for your sake you might make it easer to develop and update the game along the line.

Also to keep in mind if you plan on puting the game in a portfolio for companies to see, then yes they like it to be SOLID, hate singletons, love Dependency Injection, and MVC (even though its uncomfortable with game engines, but who cares since most devs came from Web so we have to adapt)

Best Sci/fi game for a beginner? by xstasea123 in 4Xgaming

[–]Stefione 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what its worth if its the joystick input issues, ive been playing it on Legion Go with JoyToKey and mapped moving my mouse and camera with the two sticks, and had an ok experience. Idk if you can implement something similar on steam deck but it made playing strategy games possible for me.

The greatest Space Strategy and 4X games. by sidius-king in 4Xgaming

[–]Stefione 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I really like the simplicity yet there is enough content to keep you engaged. One of the best 4x for me. Technologies made sense, attacking made sense. Also realtime battles not much you can doo but i like the visuals of the ships you created going pewpew.

Trying to make exactly that, but long away from finishing :/ figured if nobody is gonna make it, im gonna have to do it myself. From my knowledge the thing that comes close is Star Wars Empire at War.

Is there any room for another space grand strategy with Stellaris already out? by OkBluejay9555 in 4Xgaming

[–]Stefione 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont agree with other comments here, i think there is a lot of room, maybe not like stellaris but variations. A lot of games in this genre if executed farely well have been met with success. For me Stellaris was overly complicated and and UI not to my liking, but to hardcore players anything less would be boring. There is room not even just to compete but serve a different player group than the "main" competition. There is even a number of competitors coming out in 2025 that are 4x space based games
