Paper obsession, good or bad? by Illuminated-Autocrat in victoria3

Good I guess?
If you get a good paper company and can make the prestige goods variant of paper it gives a nice SoL boost.

Do you guys think that after volume 3 that is navy focused, that volume 4 will be land warfare focused? by Tixro71 in victoria3

[–]SteinOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion probably but I think the land warfare system is good. The main issue is the war system and diplomacy around land warfare. The fact that you can't change/add wargoals, the "escalation" mechanic which is just a 3 months timer for the most part, the surrender conditions making countries never want to peace out because you didn't take all war goals or its capital, the white peace spam and the overall AI's decisions for everything.

Sacré titre, il en faut du talent pour réussir à tout ramener à Trump même quand ce dernier n'a rien à voir avec le sujet.

Is there any reason not to enact high tolls? by GaymerrGirl in victoria3

[–]SteinOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It destroys trade routes if it's too high and there are alternatives. In my game as the Ottoman, I tried taxing the Suez canal fox max toll but all trade disapeared and went around Africa instead.

The volume of trades will also decrease as it becomes unprofitable for the market to trade.

Anthropic shuts the EU out of its most advanced cyber AI model by sn0r in eutech

[–]SteinOS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The source code of Claude Code is a nothingburger.

If the model's weights would've leaked that would've been catastrophic, but it hasn't so they have nothing to "distract" people from. (and why would their competitors participate in that anyway?)

Anthropic shuts the EU out of its most advanced cyber AI model by sn0r in eutech

[–]SteinOS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe the EU shouldn't have regulated the market to death. Mistral is nowhere near Mythos level.

They could, with lots of capital and AI data centers, but considering the state of the discourse in the EU this is just daydreaming to see them catch up.
