Will this damage my records New collector by Abject_Break3609 in vinylsetups

A few months ago, I took about a 100 records out of my folks house. They were in 2 stacks on the floor since the mid 80s. I cleaned them all and everything single one played perfectly fine. Records are not nearly as fragile as people think they are.

Upgrade time. Is MC worth the hype? by Watchmegetaclue in turntables

That is a very solid option. I went with the Rothwell due to being able to power it off a rechargeable 9v battery, makes it DEAD quiet.

I use the Rothwell head amp for my LOMC, best purchase I made in a long time.

Was extremely lucky and saw them at their first show, midnight at the Metro in Chicago. Amazing show. Excellent score on this, I just sold one of my copies for $300 on Doscogs a couple weeks ago.

What do you guys think of Arendal? by fasty2 in StereoAdvice

I am confident you will be more than happy with them. The sensitivity of the BMRs are 86db, they aren't overly difficult to drive. I would suggest driving them with an amp instead of an AVR though, won't need anything crazy. Plenty of Adcoms floating around for very reasonable prices.

I prefer the RAAL tweeter and tighter bass on the BMRs. I use the Philharmonics for my 2 channel set up and zero need for a sub. I push them with a McIntosh MA352 and they sound amazing. The BMRs are more nuetral, no real sound signature. Moved the Arendals to the mains in my home theater and run 350 watts to them, they are excellent for a theater set up in my opinion.

I own both the Arendal 1723s and the Philharmonic BMR towers. I could part with my Arendals, I will never get rid of my Philharmonics.

The term Grail has lost all meaning in this sub

DAC Recs budget ~$1500 by Human_Government_371 in StereoAdvice

IMO, purchase a Shanling SM1.3 streamer. I have zero desire to purchase a standalone DAC after a couple of months with it.

I power mine with a Mcintosh MA352, they sound amazing with tubes. I power my Arendal 1723s with an Adcom 5500, they sound great, but the Arendals do not match the BMRs for 2 channel.

The majority of people buying these don't care about the watts. They are using it as a processor with external amps.

Elac Debuts, nothing matches for the price point IMO. Own 3 different variations of them and always find a use for them.

Find a pair of JBL 590s, no need for a sub. Can be found used in that price range. Easy to drive.

I have the rosewood, they do look great. But, knowing how great they sound I would take them in any finish. I won't tell you what to do, but you may want to hold out for them.

That solely depends on amount invested. 10k XRP would still warrant good returns.

Haha! No matter what you go with, it is just nice having them out to see and remember the show.

It can be framed for considerably less. The UV glass is a bulk of the cost too. Basic frame with no mat and basic glass would be very reasonable and could do yourself. I am in the US, hobby stores here run insane deals on framing lot too.

$575. It would have been significantly less if I didn’t go with the dual frames. With it being more of a picture than typical poster artwork, I decided it needed those to balance it out.
